Ji Ji Wanton Smile Aug 31, 2013

Ji Ji Wanton is THE place to go for in Hong Lim when you want quality noodles at reasonable prices. They have dumpling noodles and hor fun too but wanton noodles is their specialty. Their noodles are springy, char siew is firm and wanton are plump and juicy. The queue may be long but it is worth the wait. Usually, the wait is not that long as they are very efficient unless it's during the lunchtime peak.

Coffee fix Smile Aug 31, 2013

I think sometimes Singaporeans take waterfront dining for granted. I know of people who would give anything to have a cuppa by the river. Ninethirty is an idyllic place and it is nice to spend a lazy afternoon here to chill, over a cup of cappucino if you would like. It is a bright and cheerful place, with many windows to take advantage of its location. Convenient place to head to before or after a performance.

Yoshinoya Smile Aug 31, 2013

I feel that out of all the places which offer rice bowls, Yoshinoya still offers one of the most value-for-money. Its portions are also quite generous, just look at the picture I took of my salmon bowl and you will understand why. Its outlets are also often located at prime spots. Just take its Somerset outlet, it's located right at the foot of the staircase and next (but not so near) to the restrooms! Good for a quick but satisfying meal!

Maccha Smile Aug 31, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Desserts and Cakes

Maccha is much bigger in Singapore than it was five years ago, but I hadn't realised how big it was till I noticed the constant stream of customers queuing to get their maccha fix. I noticed that the beverages and dessert items were more popular than its main dishes here.

I liked the Maccha soft serve cone I had that day. The flavour is not that strong, even though the server had recommended the mixed one. I say, go for the maccha one. I did and it was delicious!

Domino's Smile Aug 31, 2013
Categories : Italian | Pasta | Halal

Although Domino's is more famous for its pizzas, its drumlets were not bad too. Quite tasty. Had the drumlets and the pepperoni with mushroom pizza. Their pizzas smell better than they taste. Not that they aren't good but the aroma is very strong! So I guess I had expected more from it. I feel the pizzas are rather reasonably prized and would be good for a gathering.
