Chicken Rice! Smile May 29, 2012
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese

This set of chicken rice that comes with a bowl of soup, sliced drumstick chicken and rice costs $3.50 and is popular amongst the working class. The chicken is tender and the sauce dripped over the chicken is not too salty. The soup does not taste too oily, salty or peppery and the serving of rice is relatively generous. If you were to try this plate of chicken rice, I would highly recommend you to dip the chicken slices in finely chopped ginger and black soy sauce. Highly recommended especially for chicken rice lovers or for those who want to try authentic Singapore flavoour chicken rice chopstick

Tasty mini buns  Smile May 29, 2012

Categories : Bakery

These buns sold at 5 for $2.95 are perfect for snacks. The bakery sells a wide range of mini buns, donuts, brownies catering to different customers' liking. The buns are fluffy and not excessively chewy. My favorite mini bun is the sausage bun and donuts which is also a popular choice among many customers. For those who enjoy snacks that are sweet, the bakery sells a range of sweet delights such as donuts, brownies, sweet buns and for those who enjoy snacks that has a salty taste, the bakery also sells a range of snacks that cater to their taste buds. Recommended to try especially for bread lovers and those who would like to try a variety of buns at low prices. smile

Red Bean Healthy Pancake  Smile May 25, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean

Mr Bean sells a range of flavours of pancakes ranging from kaya to cheese to egg and mayo and is perfect for a daytime snack. Made fresh daily, this pancake has a slight taste of soy beans and though it is a healthier snack, it still taste really good. My favourite flavour is the cheese flavour where a slice of melted cheese is stuffed within the soy pancake and taste especially yummy when it is just made and served warm. The pancakes range from $1.10 to $1.80 + and customers can also choose a healthy soy drink to go with this snack.

Good O' Curry Puff!  Smile May 25, 2012
Categories : Singaporean | Halal

Crispy on the outside, Old Chang Kee shows how a good curry puff taste like. The curry is not too spicy with slices of potatoes and a quarter of a boiled egg stuff inside. The curry puff is fried well and is not too burnt or oily. This curry puff is perfect of a daytime snack. Old CHang Kee also sells other fried snacks ranging from yam cake to fish balls to cheese sausages. Still, its most popular snack is still customers' old time favourite- curry puffs lol

Ya Kun Breakfast Set  Smile May 23, 2012
Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

It costs just $4.50 to get this full breakfast set that comprised of 2 eggs, 4 slices of bread with butter and sugar and tea with milk. The egg yolks were a little over cooked but still runny and went well with black soy sauce and egg whites. The bread are well toasted and taste awesome with the milk tea. I enjoyed the tea though it would have been better if less sugar was added. lol
