Disappointing food experience =(  Cry Oct 20, 2013

Ever since seeing The Factory being featured on TV , I am dying to go try out their fries and their interesting dips. Finally had a chance to go there this evening, but came back really disappointed.
BF and I ordered a Minced Chicken Spaghetti which comes with fries with 1 dip (we opted for Marmite Honey per their staff’s recommendation) , Truffle fries and Lemon Tea .
I do feel improvement for the presentation of food is needed , based on what we had been served today.

From the pic, u can see that some of the minced chicken were all clumped together. =( Taste-wise - just ok. Portion was just nice.

Fries that came with the main course. Dip was ok, but I couldnt taste any honey in it, I find it a little too thick.

Truffle fries. I was shocked by the portion. It was more like for 3-4pax. For 1-2 pax, u will get sick of it before u can manage to finish half of it. It tasted quite nice during the first few fries.

Waffle with belgin choc & banana ice cream. When i saw the waffle, i had a very bad feeling, it look burnt and very dry. And true enough, it was burnt and hard and tasted bitter. Choc ice cream was quite bland and lack the "fullness" , I even taste frozen bits within the ice cream.

Lemon tea was also quite bland. =(

I felt a bit upset to be so terribly disappointed by a place I had been looking forward to visit, and after reading plenty of good reviews for their waffles. I'm not sure if it's just the wrong time I visited or that the person preparing happened to have some misses today, but... I hope I have another chance to try their food again.

After seeing my friend's pics in Facebook and the many raves for the place online, I was very looking forward to visiting the place. I went with my boyfriend on New Year's day at about 12noon, without a reservation.

Upon reaching, the place was about 3/4 filled with a few empty tables around. We were greeted by a young cheery lady who was looking very busy so we made our way to an empty table nearby and wait for her to get back to us with the menu. She came back to us with plain water but no menu and that was when I realised that it seemed like there wasnt any menu around. It's only shown at the cashier.

So my BF and I went to order at the cashier, and the gentleman at the cashier asked for our table which we told him. He told us that the table had been reserved and they have to move us to another "table", which was a empty wood crate with kids chairs at the corner. As we went there purposely to try out the food, we agreed and decided to make do with the seats. Upon sitting, i do felt a bit embarrased as they were clearly chairs for children and we look pathetic having to eat at such a setup. The table we had sat earlier had no RESERVED tag on, and remained empty by the time we left.

We ordered 2 Tuna melt, an orange juice and iced latte. When I was looking at the receipt, I realised they didnt charge for my Iced Latte,so i got my BF to go and alert them (coz I was afraid they took the order but didnt charge for it!). He came back and told me before he could say anything, one of the female servers brushed him off by saying "It's coming, it's coming" , he was like huh?? she didnt even know what he was going to say. Anyway we paid anyhow, and our drinks and tuna melt.

The tuna melt was good, and portion is quite big, so if you're a small eater, might be good to share with another, as you may be sick of it (as it's a little salty) by the time u get to the fourth piece.

Not a good first experience for me, but I m still looking forward to try again, this time for the cakes. And I will make sure I make a reservation this time~

Newly opened in Bali Lane, managed by Korean natives...
Service is good and rather fast.

Fried Chicken with Spicy Sauce

Fried Chicken Original

Fried Chicken in stripes with mustard sauce

The korean seaweed rice was really good. The lunch set also comes with a drink and they have really cute & interesting korean canned drinks.

Went to Miam Miam twice with my colleagues. Once on Xmas eve & once on 30Dec.

Riz Noir Black Rice (Squid ink rice)
This was a little salty, and quite oily. I got a bad aftertaste after finishing the dish. Omelette was fine though.

Miam Miam Capellini
My colleagues had this, the flavour was strong and quite good.

Homard Bisque (Lobster bisque spaghetti)
My colleague had this and said the flavour wasnt strong enough, portion was huge though

Teriyaki chicken spaghetti ( I modified it by removing the bacon and sauce)
But this was done pretty well, chicken is fresh and tender, and the oil which was used to toss my spaghetti was light.

Chocolate Molleaux
This is rather good.. with really rich chocolate in the middle.

Apples & Granola Pancake
I tried this a bit and felt the pancake was a little hard and tasteless.

The French Toast
This is really yummy. Big portion of crispy bread, with fresh cream on top, and maple syrup to add on your own. I will say go for the desserts esp the souffles in Miam Miam, thats what they are famous for. smile

Not as good as anticipated  OK Sep 18, 2013

I was very drawn to the restaurant's name when I drove past the place. Determined to try out, BF and I made a tour from West to the East to have dinner there.

We ordered the Steamed White Pomfret in Soy Sauce with Chai Po , Salted egg prawns and Stir-fry Nanbai in Garlic .

White Pomfret - I do feel that the fish was not very fresh as I can taste the "fishy-ness", the soy sauce and chai po was however good and can be eaten on its own.

Salted egg prawns - This was done in a little twist , different from the usual ones I eat. They coated a batter over the prawn to form sortof like a shell to hold the flesh of the prawn, and filled TONS of salted egg york in it. I like egg york but either I had a bit of a overdose after eating the third prawn @_@" .

Nanbai in Garlic - Nothing much , it was ok.

Perhaps we ordered the wrong fish and dishes this round, but I do want to try again next round and stick to the dishes recommended in various foodblogs.
