Had brunch with 2 other friends this afternoon. We called to make a reservation earlier and was delighted to find that the place with not very crowded today - relaxed environment for catching up with friends. Service was great too.. We didnt have to wait for long for our food to be ready.

This was what I had...Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Burger Bun.
It was fine, chicken was a little hard, but bread was soft and fluffy. Side salad as also fresh and crunchy.

We ordered the Sheperd Pie in chicken. This was really YUMMY! Potato was soft and chicken and the sauce was just plain good.

What my friend had, he ordered this again at his second visit, it must be good.

What my friend had and I forgot to ask how was it. But it looks good with the slightly roasted bread..

I also had the Ice Latte which was good, not the overpowering kind which I am afraid of..

Overall, a good experience there and I will be back for more... smile

Great Japanese food and service Smile Oct 25, 2013

Popped by for lunch. Colleagues ordered their Katsu Don while I went for the Teriyaki Salmon with Onigiri (rice balls).
While my colleagues commented theirs were normal, I truely enjoyed mine.

I paid about $4 to make my main course a set lunch, and I got 2 side dishes and a drink - Chawanmushi, potato salad and a ice green tea. Variety of their sides are quite good. What I love about my choice was that the salmon was grilled to just the right way, cooked but still juicy and tender, and the Onigiri were just superb ! I love rice, and they did this with perfection. The rice were light and chewy and fluffy. Just good by itself and u need no sauce to go along with it.

Service was also quite good , and you get 10% off if you make payment by Cash, how cool is that?

Disappointing food experience =(  Cry Oct 20, 2013

Ever since seeing The Factory being featured on TV , I am dying to go try out their fries and their interesting dips. Finally had a chance to go there this evening, but came back really disappointed.
BF and I ordered a Minced Chicken Spaghetti which comes with fries with 1 dip (we opted for Marmite Honey per their staff’s recommendation) , Truffle fries and Lemon Tea .
I do feel improvement for the presentation of food is needed , based on what we had been served today.

From the pic, u can see that some of the minced chicken were all clumped together. =( Taste-wise - just ok. Portion was just nice.

Fries that came with the main course. Dip was ok, but I couldnt taste any honey in it, I find it a little too thick.

Truffle fries. I was shocked by the portion. It was more like for 3-4pax. For 1-2 pax, u will get sick of it before u can manage to finish half of it. It tasted quite nice during the first few fries.

Waffle with belgin choc & banana ice cream. When i saw the waffle, i had a very bad feeling, it look burnt and very dry. And true enough, it was burnt and hard and tasted bitter. Choc ice cream was quite bland and lack the "fullness" , I even taste frozen bits within the ice cream.

Lemon tea was also quite bland. =(

I felt a bit upset to be so terribly disappointed by a place I had been looking forward to visit, and after reading plenty of good reviews for their waffles. I'm not sure if it's just the wrong time I visited or that the person preparing happened to have some misses today, but... I hope I have another chance to try their food again.

Had lunch with colleagues there on Friday. They ordered the Basa fish with wedges and I had the Salmon belly with Arborio rice.

My colleagues find this just so-so, they said the fish tasted like it came out from a freezer.

I love my main, salmon was cooked just nice, a little soft and tender, and the sauce that went along was good. Texture of the rice was a bit like risotto, soft and chewy at the same time.

I had bought their Lemon cheesecake and chocolate torte to try at office the day before. The cheesecake was really good, light and not too sweet. The torte is very chocolately and can be a little sweet for people who dont enjoy sweet stuffs.

Recommended Dish(es):  Salmon belly with Arborio rice, lemon cheesecake

Whimsical cafe with great food  Smile Sep 23, 2013

Stopped by with colleagues for lunch this afternoon. Cafe has very nice colors, and beautiful items for sale by a French designer . The cafe serves all day breakfast, lunch and dinner and cakes.

The 4 of us ordered the

Scrambled eggs with croissant
Eggs were normal, but croissant was really light, buttery and at a right crisp.

Portobello mushroom with croissant
Baked mushroom with some ham and cheese over, this is really good. Paired with a yummy croissant, but salad was a little too sour for my liking - too much balsamic vinegar dressing.

Spaghetti carbonara
A bit different from the usual creamy and thick carbonara we expected. This is surprisingly light and a little oily, but still good.

Duck Pizza

This has got to be my fav. Chessy, and crispy crust and nice duck.

A pity we didnt have time nor stomach room for desserts this time. Prices are expensive but the good quality of food made up for it.
