Fong Delicacies Zha Jiang Mee

Fong Delicacies Zha Jiang Mee

Fong Kee Delicacies serves up traditional chinese food. Mrupupup visited the store (Stall 12) at Serangoon Garden Market and Food Centre for their Rice Cake dish and Zha Jiang mee. The Rice Cake (nian gao) is a plain and simple dish with cabbage and lean pork meat, good if you want a simple fare in your tummy. Zha Jiang mee is a slightly salty dish with a brown sauce and minced pork meat, pretty nice and with much flavour. Check out the photo of Zha Jiang Mee.

Kay Lee Roast Meat Shop Smile Jul 20, 2012

Kay Lee Roast Meat

Kay Lee Roast Meat

Kay Lee Roast Meat Shop sells roasted char siew meat, roasted duck and roast pork. Mrupupup only heard of this shop when it was reported that the owners wanted to sell away their business and the shophouse which the business is located in. Well, if anybody got $2 million to spare, you can try to take over their shop premises and the roasted meats business with secret receipe. If no money, we just have to eat their roasted meats. Kay Lee Roast Meat shop is located at 125 Paya Lebar Road, Singapore. Be prepared to wait for your food as there always a queue for their roast meats. Mrupupup managed to line up and pay for a take away packet and it is not cheap, costs $5 per packet of roast char siew meat with rice (almost double the normal price). Ok, Mrupupup did enjoy the quality of their special black and 'charred' char siew meats and taste very delicious. Enjoy the pictures of Kay Lee Roast Meats.

Ah Seah Porridge Dishes

Ah Seah Porridge Dishes

Ah Seah Teochew Porridge is now in Teck Chye Terrace which is in the Kovan area (previous buidling was demolished) and served very nice Teochew porridge dishes. Teochew porridge are plain and simple food stuff and can be comfort food for some. The food dishes range from salted eggs, squid, vegetables, steamed fish, meat, bean curd, braised duck and many more. Mrupupup loves plain, watery and hot porridge. It is just right for comfort food. The prices for the place is not too expensive as compared to the other Teochew Porridge eating places in the same Kovan area. The Teochew Porridge meal was rounded off with a nice cold 'Cheng Teng' drink. All very nice and simple.

Selegie Soya Bean Curd

Selegie Soya Bean Curd

Selegie Soya Bean outlet has a long line of people waiting to buy their soya beancurd, soya bean drink and their snacks. Mrupupup waited for some time to have their soya beancurd and soya bean drink with pearls. Selegie Soyabean has many outlets in Singapore and was establised in 1998. It was worth the wait as their soya bean drink and soya beancurd are very nice. Their soya beancurd melts in your mouth and taste very nice. Their soya bean drink was thick and loved their generous portion of pearls in the drink. Yummzz !!!! Attached a photo of their nice soya bean curd (cold version).

Hakka Yong Tau Fu

Hakka Yong Tau Fu

Hakka Yong Tau Fu stall at Ghim Moh Hawker Centre #01-14 is very busy during lunch time. The stall sells traditional Hakka Yong Tau Fu pieces. The Yong Tau Fu pieces are fried and can have bean curd, egg, eggplant, pig's intestines, fish ball, yam, and many more. This Yong Tau Fu stall is very nice and have your Yong Tau Fu items with bee hoon or rice. It is their home receipe and their friendly staff that makes people want to come back for more. The food is not expensive and value for money. A bowl of Hakka Yong Tau Fu will costs $2.50-$4 depending on what one orders for their meal. Take note the store normally sells out by 1.30pm.
