Secret Recipe's Irish Lamb Stew Smile Jan 03, 2013

Mrupupup had a craving for Secret Recipe restaurant's Irish Lamb Stew. Mrupupup went to the Secret Recipe outlet in Vivocity (#02-208). Mrupupup ordered the Irish Lamb stew ($18.90) and Lobster Bisque (soup) - $5.20. The lobster bisque had a strong lobster taste and it was nicely done. The Irish Lamb Stew is Secret Recipe's award winning dish. The Lamb Stew came with a piece of bread, mashed potato and a huge lamb bone covered with lots of very tender meat. The dish also had a interesting sauce and tasted well with the lamb meat. Overall, the craving for Irish Lamb Stew was satisfied. This Irish Lamb Stew cannot eat too often for it is really a 'heavy' dish. Do try the Irish Lamb Stew if one felt like a 'caveman' and wanting to have lots of meat and huge bone as leftover. Yummysss, Mrupupup felt like a caveman!

Woohooo.... There is a new Japanese Cafe in town - St Marc Cafe located at Vivocity First Floor (facing the harbour) and it is their first branch in Singapore. Mrupupup ordered a large cup matcha latte ($7) and their awesome croissants (plain and chocolate) - $2.40 and $2.60 each estimated. The green match latte was great and taste very nice especially with the croissants. The St Marc Cafe's croissants were really crispy and wonderful to the taste. Mrupupup ordered two croissants and felt like ordering more! Wonder why Mrupupup never encountered this St Marc Cafe when he went travelling in Japan! St Marc Cafe also serves up ice cream desserts, pastries, bread and various types of coffee. Do get their St Marc Cafe coupon which gives one a 10% discount on all items till May 2013. Mrupupup is going again to St Marc Cafe one day.

Coastes place is located at Siloso Beach, Sentosa, Singapore. Mrupupup went with a group of friends to try out their food for dinner. Coastes was really nice for a breezy evening on a Friday. The Sentosa sea wave was nearby and people were feeling so relaxed at Coastes. The waiters serving us were dressed in relaxing attire like T-shirts & slippers. We ordered their house 'specials' - Seafood stew ($28), beachy prawn pizza ($22 per pizza), honey beef ribs ($26), fish & chips ($20), Coastes freeze drinks ($9) and beers. The seafood stew which came with bread slices were really nice and the delicious stew had mussels, crayfish, prawns, fish slices and clams. We ordered two seafood stews! The beachy prawn pizza was an interesting and the honey beef ribs, really nice and tender beef (yums!). The fish & chips dish was huge. Totally enjoyed the evening with the Coastes Freeze drink in hand which was non-alcoholic and refreshing too. Loved the sound of the waves and enjoyed the food with an occasional burst of fireworks from the nearby Sentosa evening show. Coastes in Sentosa was a great place for dinner and go there on a weekend to relax. http://mrupupup.blogspot.sg/2012/12/coastes-at-siloso-beach-sentosa-for.html

Mrupupup had dinner at the The Courtyard, located at the Rendezvous Hotel, 9 Bras Basah Road, Dhoby Ghaut area, Singapore. The Courtyard is an outdoor eating place of the Rendezvous Hotel. The place was quiet when Mrupupup went there during a weekend evening. Mrupupup had dinner of their house fish & chips ($17.80) and their chicken in cream sauce ($14.80). The house fish & chips was nice and the fried fish fillet was wrapped in their Rendezvous Hotel newsletter which was quite environmentally friendly. The chicken in cream sauce was good and loved the mushrooms in a very creamy white sauce. Overall, the place was quiet and one can have good conversations over a decent meal. Taste Paradise at Ion Orchard Smile Nov 10, 2012

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum | Roasted Meat

Taste Paradise is one traditional Chinese restaurant that serves very nice 'xiao long bao' (attached picture). Mrupupup enjoyed Chinese dishes and loved to come to Taste Paradise at Ion Orchard Singapore. Mrupupup ordered the signature pork noodles in soup, Zha Jiang mee (spicy noodles) and of course their 'xiao long bao'. The xiao long bao is a small dumpling 'handmade' and with pork & soup in the dumpling. The xiao long bao is one delicate food item and do handle with care so as not to break the skin of the dumpling too early. The pork noodles with pork slices and an egg was very nice and Mrupupup finished the whole bowl! The pork soup was nicely done and loved the handmade noodles. The zha jiang mee was a bit spicy for Mrupupup. Mrupupup finished the meal with a traditional dessert with jelly bits in it which was a nice way to round off a meal. Xiao Long Bao (about $7 for 6), Pork Noodles ($10.80) and Zha Jiang Mee ($9.80) plus Jelly dessert ($3.80). Do take note the restaurant would need to wait for seats if you have a large group.
