Yummy Paus! Smile Apr 29, 2013

This new pau chain that open at the third floor of Serangoon NEX first attracted me as they had liu sha pau. But I was a little taken off by the price and chose to buy the more filling da pau and char siew pau to try instead. The da pau is really nice and I really like the fact that they replace the usual quater hard boiled egg with a quail egg. The char siew pau is slightly too sweet but I still like it as a whole.

My family went for Kudeta's Brunch Buffet to celebrate my brother's birthday. The restaurant being placed at the top of Singapore's iconic MBS have not only nice view but also nice food smile We took the normal Brunch at $88++ with free flow of smoothie, juices, coffee and tea. I really liked their wide variety of tea and manage to tried two types along with a cup of cranberry juice and a smoothie. The smoothie was nothing special and a little bland though.

I really like their quater dozen oyster on ice and foie gras. The egg benedict had perfect poached eggs too. They also have a wide spread of bread and desserts to choose from and cold dishes such as smoked salmon and tuna tataki. Personally I really liked the coroissants and their wide variety of jam. There were a few hit and miss at the dessert section.

Though I think this brunch buffet is a little expensive, the spread and quality of food they offer made it worth while.

Beancurd! Smile Apr 29, 2013

Despite recent rave about beancurd pudding, I actually like the tradition type of beancurd more. Selegie is one of the popular chain beancurd store around. It is convenient to get as a dessert or something light if you are not hungry. I usually add ginko or lotus seed for a additional taste and texture with the beancurd. It is definately a healthier dessert or supper as compared to ice cream or cakes tongue

Dessert! Smile Apr 29, 2013

There is a bubbletea stall in this food court that replaced the Sakae Sushi in NTU and they have recently added this new dessert on their menu. It cost $4.50 but I think it was a good try. The base is grass jelly topped with different toppings of red bean, pearls and yu yuan (sweet potato and yam flavoured). I think the yu yuan was really Q and nice. My friend was saying that Blackball(another stall that offers this type of dessert at a few locations eg. Bugis Plus) is nicer.
I look forward to trying Blackball when I have the chance smile

Beancurd Pudding Smile Apr 29, 2013

Lao Ban is one of the first few beancurd pudding that spark the whole rave of beancurd pudding. The beancurd is really smooth and not that sweet. I really like it as compare to all the other beancurd pudding brands that came out after that.

It was free due to OCBC Frank card benefits to student in NTU and they were giving out lao ban as an exam welfare for a whole week.
