Beancurd! Smile Apr 29, 2013

Despite recent rave about beancurd pudding, I actually like the tradition type of beancurd more. Selegie is one of the popular chain beancurd store around. It is convenient to get as a dessert or something light if you are not hungry. I usually add ginko or lotus seed for a additional taste and texture with the beancurd. It is definately a healthier dessert or supper as compared to ice cream or cakes tongue

Dessert! Smile Apr 29, 2013

There is a bubbletea stall in this food court that replaced the Sakae Sushi in NTU and they have recently added this new dessert on their menu. It cost $4.50 but I think it was a good try. The base is grass jelly topped with different toppings of red bean, pearls and yu yuan (sweet potato and yam flavoured). I think the yu yuan was really Q and nice. My friend was saying that Blackball(another stall that offers this type of dessert at a few locations eg. Bugis Plus) is nicer.
I look forward to trying Blackball when I have the chance smile

Beancurd Pudding Smile Apr 29, 2013

Lao Ban is one of the first few beancurd pudding that spark the whole rave of beancurd pudding. The beancurd is really smooth and not that sweet. I really like it as compare to all the other beancurd pudding brands that came out after that.

It was free due to OCBC Frank card benefits to student in NTU and they were giving out lao ban as an exam welfare for a whole week.

Juicy Breaded Mushroom

Swiss Mushroom Sandwich

Alfredo with Crispy Fish

Birthday Platter

When I go to NYNY, one of my favourites is the pasta, the alreado is really rich. It can go with the crispy fish, pork rib or half chicken, which gaves a variety.
The side dish juicy breaded mushroom is really juicy and nice.

With their recent change in membership, the birthday platter is no longer in their membership so this would be the last birthday platter would be the last we will have.

Recommended Dish(es):  Alfredo pasta, juicy breaded mushroom

Spending per head: Approximately $20(Dinner)

Delicious Soba Smile Apr 24, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant

I usually see people eat Soba as sort of a side dish in Japanese Restaurant so I was quite surprised when there was this restaurant selling mainly soba in Shokutsu 10 in NEX.

We ordered a hot soba, chilled soba and a mixed katsu respectively.

I really liked the hot soba as the soup was refreshing but not too salty, together with the seaweeds, it was very delicious. The set was less than $20 and came with sushi and sashimi. What I didn't like was the soy sauce that is given was too salty.

The chilled soba was nice too but in my opinion the soba was not cold enough.

The mixed katsu came with a softshell crab which was really crispy and nice smile

Recommended Dish(es):  Mixed Katsu

Spending per head: Approximately $22(Dinner)
