Hot Tomato OK Jun 24, 2012

Categories : Steaks and Grills

Hot Tomato has opened another outlet at Nex shopping mall. This is the group's fourth outlet. Currently the Hot Tomato Group offers 3 different dining concepts under its establishment.

Hot Tomato Coffeehouse was established in Jan 2006 at Republic Plaza. Due to its overwhelming success, other outlets are launched, namely Hot Tomato Express, established in June 2007 at Plaza Singapura, and Hot Tomato Café and Grill, in late 2009 at 313 Somerset [source Hot Tomato website]

I ordered the grilled seafood set which came with a soup and drink. The Aglio Olio was pretty good, a nice chewy texture topped with spiciness. For sharing, we have the calamari which was crispy and firm. Overall it was a delightful dining experience.

Happy Veg  OK Jun 24, 2012

Categories : Vegetarian

The kiosk located on the 3rd floor of Nex outside NTUC. It sells deep fried fritters that comes in a few varieties such as salmon, prawn, chives and etc. I did not find a lot of vegetables with the fritters although it is named HappyVeg. I had the prawn fritter. The outter was crisp and inside fluffy. However it is quite oily. An unhealthy snack but tasty pretty good.

Peach Garden Noodle House  OK Jun 24, 2012

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Noodles

Peach Garden has opened a new restaurant, Peach Garden Noodle House at Changi Airport Terminal 1 transit area. Besides noodle dishes, it also offers dim sum on its menu. I had the Noodle Soup with BBQ pork and egg. The soup was quite nice with the wolfberry flavour. Unfortunately the dish did not come together with the different ingredients. It was quite ordinary considered Peach Garden is an established brand.

Soup OK Jun 23, 2012

This is my first time at Souperlicious and I found the concept very similar to Soup Spoon. I ordered the combo meal which came with a choice of a regular soup plus a small salad, pasta or half sandwich/wrap with a free drink at $9.90. I had the beef goulash and small meatball pasta.

The beef goulash was a thick and rich soup cooked with paprika. It was filled with stewed beef cubes, carrots and vegetables. A comfort and filling meal alone. For the spaghetti, it was norm but the meatball stood out.

The turn off about Souperlicious is the price on the menu does not include GST. I ended up paying $10.60 for my combo meal instead of $9.90. The food was ordered, paid and collected at the counter so I was not expecting the price is GST exclusive.

KOI OK Jun 23, 2012
Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

KOI cafe has gone healthy and introduced Jasmine Green Tea. I was at Toa Payoh Central and saw the banner. The queue was surprisingly short at this branch. So I just have to jump into it and get myself a drink. I only waited for about 5 minutes for my Ai Yu Green Tea. I enjoyed the combination of the Ai Yu and green tea. The ice cold green tea has a tad of tea fragant which was very freshing and light for the hot weather.
