Prata OK Jun 23, 2012
Categories : Indian

The Prata Place is a branch of The Prata Shop at Casuarina. Parking slots are very limited here. The prata here is the crispy type and it was really good. Definitely much better than the one I ate at Upper Thomson Road. The prata was fresh and fluffy with a tad of crispiness on the outer crust. You can request for either Chicken or Fish curry. For people who like to eat them with sugar, it is available too.

Congee OK Jun 23, 2012

This congee stall is located directly opposite the 138 BBQ stingray stall. I was looking for something light to go with the stingray and chicken wings so I settled for the century egg congee from this stall. The congee was cooked upon order. The congee was nice and smooth. The congee had cornflakes in it which came as a unique enjoyable giving the plain dish layers of textures within contrasting surprises.

Modern Peking Duck  OK Jun 23, 2012
Categories : Beijing | Roasted Meat

Eating Peking duck has turned modern with a new snack concept. From a $60 dish in a restaurant to a $6 snack of 5 pieces of Peking duck wrapped in egg crepe. In each piece of egg crepe, there was a piece of cucumber and Peking duck topped with hoisin sauce.

I could not taste the crispiness of the Peking duck but overall it was a nice and tasty snack. Although the egg crepe seems factory made with equal machine cut size, it texture was surprisingly soft and tasted nice with the Peking duck filling.

Eighteen Chefs  OK Jun 23, 2012

My friend and I were looking for lunch at Tiong Bahru Plaza and came upon this restaurant. I remembered reading about the restaurant owner being an ex drug addict and and worked at Jamie Oliver's restaurant, Fifteen before coming back to Singapore and opening his own restaurant.

The restaurant has a mix and match menu for baked rice or pasta beside the normal ala carte menu. We went for some fun in designing our own baked rice and pasta. A simple four steps whereby you just pick and tick the items on your order sheet.

My friend had the cheese baked rice with tangy tomato sauce and chicken slices while I have the cheese baked pasta with creamy white sauce and salmon. Cheesy it was but we were a bit disappointed with our dishes. The sauces were nice but the pasta and rice did not manage to absorb it, the taste was separated.

Dessert OK Jun 23, 2012

I did not know MOF has opened an outlet at Raffles City Shopping Centre beside Robinson taxi stand until I walk past it the other day. I was having dinner with my friends nearby Raffles City Shopping Centre and since we want to go for dessert I suggested MOF.

Love their Hokkaido Gelato ice cream, rich and creamy. The al fresco outlet right outside Robinson taxi stand is an ideal place for people watching and chilling out with your friends.
