Their premium sets here are all so mouthwateringly delicious.

it didn't take me long to decide on this set though.

 
look at the colors!

the marinated seaweed and radish were a good start to the meal.

then those thick cuts of sashimi. the salmon was thick and succulent.

and of course, I left the rest to the last.

moving on to the baked cheese scallops, the cheese sauce was so good that I used the last of it to put onto my alaskan crab. smile

but then i decided that it tasted even better with the tempura sauce. YUM!

the meat although fried, was crispy on the outside and still tender and juicy within. of course, i loved that i didn't have to fight with tooth and nail to get to the meat. it was already thoughtfully peeled halfway. and the remaining part had a soft shell exterior that was easily cracked to reveal the meat within.

a very good dinner indeed. smile

This was on the separate pull out menu. one of the two chef's recommendations.

Spicy garlic beef gozen. ($23.90)

 
and boy was i pleased with what I got.

This was a meat lover's delight. The sliced black pork salad was a nice appetizer to kickstart the meal. but the leaves of lettuce were as insubstantial as the slices of pork before being drizzled with sesame sauce. I wish there were more greens.

Premium beef fillet sliced and marinated in spicy garlic sauce kept hot on the burner.

Be careful to turn down the heat though, such that the meat doesn't overcook.

The sauce made it very palatable with rice and before you know it, you would've finished the entire serving of rice.

The side of tamago topped with salmon and spicy cod roe mayonnaise taste just like the ones in Itacho. This main was filling but not an overload on meat. Yum!

because of the new addition to our choices in doughnuts. Say hello to Krispy Kreme.

it was amidst much fanfare that the shop opened.

 
so apparently, this half a dozen took a queuetime of less than 15 minutes. how?

they will enquire if you are planning to buy in the dozens and just raise your hands and you'll find yourself moved to the front of a separate queue.

so how did these taste?

the original glazed at $2.60 a pop. this is twice the price of the ones you get from our neighbouring countries- Malaysia and Thailand. Gosh.

these were good when they were fresh. sinking teeth into gloriously deep fried dough. how could that not be heaven?

but they were much too generous with the glaze. it was also diabetically sweet.

It's been a long while since I've had teppanyaki. Especially in Singapore. We grew up having Teppan at Goodwood and surprisingly, my father, who isn't a fan of Japanese food, loves the idea of having his food stir-fried in front of him.

In order of how my meal arrived, I had the miso soup and white rice first.

 
While I watched him stir fry my sliced beef. The gravy, although starchy, was savoury and went well with rice. My biggest gripe was that it was not fried with onions, which would have made it so much more fragrant and added a sweetness to the dish. Those white strips were radish strips and some were terribly bitter.

 
The dory fillet was juicy but overly salty.

The prawns were nicely fried and I loved the lemon garlic sauce that he poured over the seafood. It really opened up my appetite.

 
Tragically, I got my vegetables last. I wish it could've come first but it didn't seem he was too concerned with the veggie fry ups.

This was the sliced beef and seafood set from Deluxe Set A at $13.90.

This place has been my favourite artisan coffee spot in town. located conveniently at Somerset 313, the cafe is owned by Keith Loh, who took first place in the National Barista Competition 2010 and head Barista John Ting.

And this was also the first time I had my flat white with abstract latte art like that. I had half a mind to change my order but decided, I'd do well as long as the taste held up just fine. which it did.

They also do a good french press here.

Instead of the usual run of the mill coffees at those chain coffee places, this place brings coffee tasting to a higher notch at the same prices. so try this instead next time you're in town for some coffee smile
