drop the t squared afternoon tea OK Jun 19, 2013

Categories : Fusion | Bars/Lounges | Hotel

If you've got a thing for bird cages.

Or simply want a chillax afternoon tea.

Woobar does it well for the service and view.

The selection of Dilmah teas is extensive.

I loved the crystallized sticks and honey in a tube that you can stir into your teas. smile

And whichever high tea set you choose would be served to you in a whimsical bird cage.

Like this.

I liked the earl gray macaroons. The scones were alright.

Loved the chocolates.

And I didn't remember much of the sandwiches.

It was really filling though.

affordable sushi OK May 28, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

there was just too much hype. it collapsed into nothingness once i walked in. I find that its just a simple conveyor belt sushi bar.

but the sushi? measly.

the rice was half of the usual portions. maybe two thirds. so it wasn't hard to make it look like the fish was more than the rice.

we had a kaisen garden salad on recommendation. And while it had my baby beetroot, it wasn't enough of anything else really.

it's definitely a single serve. not for sharing.

i don't know where all the affordability comments come in. but i am much happier off in other sushi shops than this.

sad

just pizzas? OK May 27, 2013

pizza hut is known for pizzas. yes, but have u tried anything else on their menu?

so instead of everyone eating up pizza, dad decided to make an order for their chicken steak.

a sizeable portion yes? smile

the fries though, were mushy and not in a soggy i love it way. sigh. Also the veggies were overboiled. Thankfully though, the chicken was good.

Dad liked the sauce though he thought it would've been better served on the side.

we grabbed a bunch of these hamburgers just for the birthday girl and
she loves these plain hamburgers without cheese.

i used to order these without pickles and i'd get my special order sticker.

and i still remember it was from the odeon towers branch. did it use to only cost $1.30?

in primary school, it doesnt take a lot to make a kids' day.

and it didnt take much to make hers either!

this was a simple but oh so precious birthday celebration for her smile

where's this? OK May 27, 2013

My girlfriend bought a groupon voucher because she thought the food here was good. It's my first time coming to this part of town so she decided it would be best to meet me at the mrt station first.

You definitely know where this is. you just didn't know it had a name. Its the black gray building that stands in between plaza singapura and the cathay.

so what's good here? chicken it seems. But i was a lil skeptical about roast chickens, there are just too many outlets these days serving roast chickens.

a quarter chicken and two sides.

the chicken was very well marinated! and i love the spices used. it had a morrocan taste to it.

but the sides were mediocre. the mac and cheese was a lil too al dente and the cheese sauce was a nightmare.

the german potatoes had a lard oily taste due to the bacon. too strong for my taste.
