whenever I got cravings for tom yum soup, aroy dee will be the first to pop up in my "to-go-list". After they have relocated their restaurant to cater for more patrons (it used to be only accommodating 10 groups of patrons?), it was pretty easy for us to get a sit even when we reach there at around 7pm.

ordered the usual tom yum goong, together with stirred fried kailan with garlic and coconut pork. Wanted to order cockles too, but I think they are not selling that anymore sad

everything is good except the coconut pork. The fish is too salty and the coconut is way too heavy and thick in this dish. Will be better if the coconut sauce can be a little diluted.

Fishhead steamboat Smile Feb 15, 2013

Selected this place to have our reunion dinner for this Chinese New Year. Called on the day to make a reservation but was told that only if we ordered a fish head steamboat then they will hold the reservation for us. Since they are famous for that, we decided to try on that.

As we are not a fan of fish head, we opted to change our fish to slice fish meat instead. I love the soup as it is definitely not MSG loaded (don't feel the thirst after drinking down many bowls of the soup). The fish meat though is tough, guess it is a too overcooked inside the boiling soup.

Other than that we also order the "Fatt choy yu sheng" as our starter. this is the first time i finished the yu sheng - this shows how nice and fresh it is.

For the other dishes, we ordered prawn paste chicken, sambal kang kong and sweet and sour squid. Especially love prawn paste chicken with its crispy skin and flavorful marination.

Total bill came up to $150 for 3 pax, a little too overpriced though.

Decide to ditch my usual preference of tangy tomato and try on this instead - Simon and Garfunkel Chicken and Mushroom Ragout soup. Was glad that it turns out really good, though not as sour as tangy tomato. Generous with their serving, the soup was filled with chunks of goodies - chicken thigh meat, mushrooms, big chunks of carrot etc. Complete the meal by adding on a half wrap and a cup of ice tea. Chose chicken and mushroom wrap and I like the crispiness of the wrap. Again, generous serving of the mushroom and chicken.

Definitely will be back for more soup.

As a fan of their well marinated wings and drumlets, I decided to try something else for lunch. Ordered one of the best seller item - Chicken Burger. Opted for the soy sauce chicken and a a upsize kimchi fries to go with the burger.

For the price of $10, I must say it is worth the price. The burger serving is big, though not as big as Carl's Junior but it's the quality that counts. The chicken thigh meat is juicy and of cos, their signature soy sauce make it superbly delicious. The kimchi fries however, is pretty normal and the seasoning sprinkle of the kimchi is kind of uneven.

I'll be back to try their next best selling burger - tonkatsu chicken burger.

Recommended Dish(es):  Soy sauce chicken burger, drumlets

Spending per head: Approximately $10(Lunch)

super packed during lunch time Smile Jan 16, 2013

As what the title had suggested, this place is filled to its brim during lunch time. If you choose to enjoy your meal there, you have to be prepared to share table with other customers in one squeezy table. Not recommended to big lunch group.

As for the food wise, I like their home made meat balls! Even though it's a abit pricey ($0.50 for a small fried meatball), I like how the meat ball is being cooked. The shop also offers a wide variety of Yong Tau Fu for you to choose from, to spoil you for choices. Soup base is good too, not too salty though.
