grill out! Smile May 13, 2013

I like their pork collar here as it taste like those "pork chop" I had before when I was young. A very homely taste. It also have this very sweet tasty taste of the olive oil that make this dish one of my favorite. Other than the pork collar, the ribeye steak is good too. Consider the price of $40, the portion is huge and will easily make you full after the meal. Service is good here too, worth coming for a meal though.

very nice wagyu claypot rice Smile May 06, 2013

Had the wagyu claypot rice in MAD and I must say, that is the nicest claypot rice I've ever eaten. The sliced wagyu beef is cook to perfection, not too tough or raw. The rice, infused with truffle smell so good that one could easily eat all the grain of rice in the pot and not calculative on the intake of carbos. The dish cost $26, not expensive in my opinion as the serving of the slice wagyu beef is big.

I like the environment of MAD, a place to relax while having your meal.

wagyu tomahawk Smile May 06, 2013

So we were at Casallena waiting to try their famous Wagyu Tomahawk. I never tried a beef tomahawk before so I was actually quite anticipating to this dish. Everyone at the dining table gasp a little when the dish is served - the dish look so appetizing and smell really good. I like the char-grilled part of the fats as it melts in your mouth with this grilled flavor. The dish is huge, no doubt and is enough to feed 2-3 (or even 4) adults.

Spoke to the owner and he was proud of his signature dish and he is sure that his wagyu tomahawk is one of the cheapest sold in town. Well indeed it is cheap as they are having this promotion, selling at $198++. Other than that, the other dishes served in Casallena is mouth watering as well.

If you don't mind the distance, I guess one should visit this place for some quality cheap food.

Finally there's somewhere I can actually go to in Singapore for some Taiwanese dessert. I saw this shop selling Taiwanese dessert online with a really cute name, Bing Bian which makes me really want to go down and taste it myself. You will be spoil for choices because there's so many dessert with different combination for you to choose from! What make this shop special is that their shave ice has got different flavors in it and it taste really good with it thick flavor. The texture of the shave us is somewhere in between sorbet and ice cream.

I chose to have the taro ice which comes with the yam and sweet potato chewy kind of topping. I even top up to have extra of these and I am glad I did so because it is the best I have tried (in Singapore)! For $4.90 you get yourself a big bowl of goodies, very worth it for sure. The shop owner (whom I suspect is the boss) is very friendly and chatty.

For sure I will be back for more of these goodies!

BBQ Buffet OK May 02, 2013

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | BBQ

decided to settle here for a late dinner. initially we wanted to go to another korean bbq buffet restaurant but was told that it was all fully booked. their bbq buffet menu just released on march so price wise was cheap, $25.80 nett on a weekend night. we reach the place at around 8.30pm, and was glad that the buffet spread is till 10.30pm. the buffet spread is ok, though not as much spread compare to the more famous one. I am ok with it as long as they offer enough meat to satisfy my craving. their spread look fresh even at the time we went it, especially their crisp looking lettuce which is so appetizing. marination of the meat is quite bland, will be good they can marinate it a little longer. there's also free flow of soft drinks.
