Iced Mocha! :)  Smile May 22, 2013

Usually, I'll get my iced mocha from either St Marc's, McCafe or Starbucks... so I guess each of the coffee places really have their own brand of mocha. For Coffee Bean, their rendition of mocha is a flatter, more cocoa, and less chocolate version than McCafe's or Starbucks, and in fact closer to what St Marc's has. It is definitely more bitter than its counterparts but nevertheless still enjoyable since I like the bitterness in coffees.

My last visit to Eighteen Chefs was quite long ago, and in my memory it serves superb quality food with excellent service. They have not deviated much from their ethos, as the good service and food is replicated again on my recent visit.

This time I ordered their specialty, the Heart Attack Fried Rice. It was really fragrant and tasty albeit the very oily beef streaks (New York Strips). If you don't like oily food like me, you'll probably be very freaked out by the amount of oil that oozed out. The beef was amazingly, quite tender for beef. The sauce provided is also mildly spicy, perfect for those who need a bit of dimension in every bite of the meat.

Enjoyed the meal very much, thumbs up!

The sugarcane juice here is just awesome. It has everything a sugarcane juice drink should have - super cold temperature, perfect sweetness level, and refreshing. The uncle also makes it on the spot, so you can be sure it's not pre-made syrup from elsewhere. One tall cup for $1.50! It's really good on a hot day like yesterday. If I were to drop by, I'll definitely buy it again to go with a meal.

Love eskimo's pudding milk tea.  Smile May 19, 2013

Eskimo's pudding milk tea is definitely a cut above any other bubble tea shop's pudding milk tea... having tried a few others like Super Tea & Gong Cha. It is going at $4.50 here.

Ranking quite high on my quick fix and comfort food list, the pudding milk tea here has me going back for it multiple times (at least 4-5 times) even if it is out of the way. A must-get every time I drop by Dhoby Ghaut MRT. If you haven't had it before, do try it. You'll never look back at other bubble teas!!!

$1.50 for ten minutes of happiness, Lao Ban still has that magic going in it. While there are many of similar Lao Ban standard bean curd going around, I think that there's still an extra oomph in Lao Ban. The solid to liquid melting in my mouth and the soy taste is just a perfect combination.

This time it is less "sandy" then the last time I ate, an improvement. I used to choke a little on the "sandiness" but no more of that. I really like Lao Ban and it is a good after-meal dessert.
