Goreng pisang Smile Mar 31, 2011
Categories : Hawker Centre | Halal

This goreng pisang is reasonably priced at about 70cents per piece, i had 2 pieces for lunch as i wasnt having the cravings for rice or noodles.I was sceptical at first about the taste as it looks a tad oily, but i was wrong when i taken my first bite. The crust is nice and not overly thick, it is still crispy and not soggy one bit.The banana is slightly sweet, not overly sweet. It provides a nice bite too as the banana wasnt too ripe nor overcooked.I had a really satisfied lunch snack treat with these goreng pisangs.

famous amos Smile Mar 31, 2011

Famous amos cookies smells and taste divine, the newly baked warm sweetness of the cookies never fails to attract me when i am in the area if there is a famous amos outlet.Today i had a tin of their butter pecan cookies as i have had my favourite chocolate chips one some days back.Although it is not chocolate based, i still like the sweet rich butter taste with crunchy pecan nuts which makes me ended up eating the entire tin in less than 15 minutes.

choo chiang roasted duck Smile Mar 13, 2011

Choo Chiang's roasted ducks are my family must order, each time there is birthday celebration at home or festive occasion such as chinese new year.Priced at about $38 per duck , i find it worth the money for the standard of the duckmeat paid for.A roasted duck drumstick alone would have cost $5.The duck is roasted to perfection with thin, juicy crispy skin/crust.Usually i would leave out skin if i eat meat, but i have to eat this together with the duck meat as they are too well-done.Their duck meat is not too dry and taste pretty good, not tough at all.

braised duck rice Smile Mar 13, 2011

Yukee's braised duck rice is one of the best i have eaten. It is always my top choice when i am at foodcourts. The duck rice taste good even if i buy/packet home. They have quite a variety to satisfy your tastebud and fill your stomach. From kwaychap, duck noodle,to their duck rice.I have tried all and i especially love their speciality duck rice,it comes with a nice portion of duck meat, with some topped cucumbers, tofu and peanuts.Add 50 cents extra if you want to top up an egg.I love their gravy which they topped on the rice, it makes the rice and meat taste divine. They also serve you a bowl of soup which is like herbal soup, very rich and delicious .

All time favourite Smile Mar 13, 2011

Curry-O curry puff with chicken potatoes fillings, is my all time favourite and must-order always when i pass by old chang kee stores.Price has increased over the years but taste and standard remains unchanged.I find it still value for money as the portion is as big, and the crust even if eaten after a few hours, is still crispy and not soggy at all.I wonder what secret recipe they has to make the crust so special and crispy.I really like their moist potatos filling which isnt too spicy at all, it is a good snack for every one.It is so convenient to pay with nets flashpay card each time at old chang kee if you did not carry enough cash with you.
