Spanish Delights Smile Jun 01, 2011

Categories : Spanish | Bars/Lounges | Paella

This is a fantastic place for Spanish food in the night where you can look across to Sentosa and the sea. Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food though the price is on the high end, a delightful place to pamper yourself once in a while. It has a live band too. However, this place does not serve ice water.

Calamares a la plancha
This is a dish of freshly grilled squid with virgin olive oil. The squid is tender and succulent, very nicely dressed in olive oil. This is good for a starter. There are only 3 pieces of squids and it costs $15.80.

Solomillo al Foie
This is grilled beef with Foie Gras. The beef was very well grilled. It was tender and succulent which leaves a good bite. The beef was all lean meat with no fats. Coupled with the Foie Gras and gravy, this is a delectable dish. It comes in 2 pieces and costs $18.

Paella Valenciana
This dish resembles Chinese claypot rice and is filled with Saffron, chicken, Spanish chorizo, tiger prawns, squid, half-shell mussels and rice. However, it is slightly different as it does not have charred and crispy rice. The rice is very well-flavoured and the seafood are very fresh. It uses a special kind of rice that can absorb the flavour of ingredients 3 times better than normal rice. The serving for this dish is for 2 pax and it costs $43. The waiting time for this dish is about 30 - 45mins so it is recommended to order this first.

Mango gelee cake Smile May 29, 2011

This mango cake is very exquisitive and is a very nice dessert. It has a very refreshing taste and is not very sweet so you do not get sick of it even if you have plentiful of the cake. There are fresh slices of mango within the cake and layered with cream and mousse and sponge cake.

At $3.80, I think it is pretty expensive as the size is very small. This shop puts in a lot of effort to give it products a very good overall presentation. Even the box looks classy.

Spending per head: Approximately $3.80

Filet-O-Fish Meal Smile May 29, 2011

A very worthwhile Mcvalue lunch at $5 due to upsize to get the promotional glass can. The bun is fresh and soft. The fish filet has a very nice crispy golden finish and does not have the fish skin inside. They added quite a lot of tar tar sauce to give it a nice sour taste. The cheese was quite a small piece, but was nicely melted onto the filet.

The fries today was exceptionally delicious, probably because they sprinkled enough salt on it. The fries goes well with the curry sauce and chili sauce which has a little garlic in it.

Gong cha milk tea Smile May 29, 2011

Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

This time is the Alisan Milk Tea, their signature milk tea. I added the white pearls to give it a try.

I think their signature milk tea is really special. The tea taste is not too strong. I ordered the drink at 50% sugar level and maybe this is why the milk foam on the top was a little too sweet for me. After mixing it a little, the taste of the tea was brought to another level.

The white pearls are better than the normal black pearls. They are not as chewy, but with a little crunchiness. Slightly chewy and slightly crunchy, I think you will have to give it a try to know what am I talking about.

2 piece chicken Smile Apr 27, 2011
Categories : American | Fast Food | Halal

I would order the 2 piece chicken meal every time I come to kfc. Requested for 2 thighs, and they were kind to say that they will try.

I like the crispy (spicy) chicken better. The meat is more tender and juicy, and seems to be of a bigger size even after removing the crumbs. However, it is quite spicy and I often cannot take both to be spicy.

The original one is not too bad, though the meat was tougher. As sinful as it can be, I like to eat the skin of the original chicken, as the taste of the spices is more distinct.
