Terriyaki Chicken Set  OK Oct 25, 2011
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi

This is a good place for a quiet and sumptuous dinner. The terriyaki chicken set is served on a hot stove and comes with a egg for one to add onto it. It allows the person to see the beauty of the spreading of the egg. The terriyaki sauce was adsorbed well into the chicken. Further, the chicken was also tender making it delicious.

The chawanmushi was smooth and soft such that you can sipped and swallow it. The lime was a special ingredient in it which I had not seen it else where, however there was not really any taste of lime in it. There was mushroom, chicken and gingko in it.

The shashimi was fresh and soft. It tastes good with the wasabi and soya sauce.

Fried Carrot Cake Smile Oct 25, 2011
Categories : Coffeeshop

I liked the white carrot cake and it must be fried with lots of egg and taste crispy. The one from this stall fits the bill. From the picture, one can see most of the carrot cake being wrapped in egg. The golden brown texture of the carrot cake and egg indicates the crispiness and the nice fragrance that comes with it. The carrot cake is soft and crunchy and goes very well with the preserved turnip.

Bean Curd, You Tiao & Egg Tart OK Oct 25, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean | Multi-Concept | Desserts and Cakes

This has always been a famous supper place for Singaporeans. The warm bean curd is smooth, tender and is not sweet. Usually, I will add soya milk to it so that the beancurd will not be so dry. Personally, I would prefer the warm one to the cold one. This is because the cold one tend to contain bits of frozen ice and the bean curd can be a little hard.

The you tiao is not very oily so I think it is suitable to dip into the beancurd and eat it. Apart from not being oily, I think the you tiao does not differ significantly from those at other outlets.

The tart does not really appeal from the appearance as they looked very dry on the egg surface. The taste of the tart is of reasonable quality but I think it is still some way away from those in Macau.

Terriyaki Beef Rice Smile Oct 25, 2011

Beef has always been my favourite meat so I was eager to try out this bento set. I was not disappointed as the they were generous with the serving of the beef. The beef was tender, smooth and not dry. In addition, the beef was also well-flavoured with terriyaki sauce. There were quite a lot of onions used to stir fry the beef and they taste sweet actually.

Giant Fried Platter for 2 Smile Oct 25, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Restaurant | Seafood

This was a wonderful deal purchased from Groupon which consists of a Giant Fried Platter for 2 with 2 cala cala drinks for 2 and 2 chowders of the day. Most importantly, this was purcahsed at 50% of the original price.

The crab chowder was very addictive as soup was pretty thick and sweet. The soup leaves a nice after taste in teh mouth. Additionally, it also contains pieces of crab meat.

The fried platter contains prawn, fish, mushroom, fries, garlic rice and carrot. The prawn is fresh and juicy which is very important for seafood. I think the fried mushroom is good as there was no adsorbed oil in the mushroom. The garlic rice is very fragrant and has a strong buttery taste.

The cala drink is very refreshing as it is of citrus flavour.
