Ang Gu Kueh Smile Nov 23, 2011
Categories : Singaporean Chinese

The traditional Ang Gu Kueh comes in red, which symoblise auspicious for the chinese. Other flavours like yam and coconut were added to the family of Ang Gu Kueh, but the one that I like best is still the red Ang Gu Kueh. The texture of the Kueh is tender and thin, fillings are very generously wrapped in the kueh. I love their peanut flavour too as it does not fall off easier when bite, you can even taste the coarse sugar that they blend into the grounded peanut.

black sesame  Smile Nov 22, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Café | Desserts and Cakes

The basement level of Vivo city is packed with stalls that sell nice food. I was walking around to see if there is anything that is not too heavy, and I found this stall while I was waiting for my pie. The smell was great when I opened the lid, the sesame smell triggered my taste bug. Couldn't help but to finish the dessert before eating my main meal. I do find it more pricy as compared to others, so if not for the convenience, I doubt I will go down just to make the purchase.

Hong Kong roast meat Smile Nov 21, 2011
Categories : Coffeeshop

This shop has been there for quite some years and business seem to be pretty good. So far this is one of the few shops that I find the taste matches the roast meat that I had eaten in Hong Kong. I recall that I used to see the boss around handling the meat years ago but now he seem to have employ staffs to do the work. Standard seem to have dropped slightly but taste is still great compared to others. Items that worth the try : wanton noodle, dumpling soup and Yong Tau Foo.

Chicken Chop and Fish and chips Smile Nov 21, 2011

Categories : Hawker Centre

As far as I recall, this is the only western food stall that is in this market. So whenever I feel like having a change of taste, this stall is my first option. I like the crispyness in the fish and chips , and also like to add sausage and egg to my meal whenever I feel really hungry. The fish comes in 2 big pieces and servings of fries was generous. Another items that I have tried is the chicken chop. The chicken is well seasoned and tender. Great food!

Egg tart Smile Nov 21, 2011

Categories : Portuguese

I was not impressed by the look when I open the box of egg tarts that my hubby bought back. The colour look dull and the crust look dried. In fact, I just had my dinner and was quite full. But after considering that he bought this all the way from the west side of Singapore , I decided to take one bite. I was really caught by surprise that the taste was amazing. The egg custard was really soft and it melts in your mouth. The crust has a nice buttery taste which compliments the custard very well. I finished 5 of it and left just one for my hubby. yummy!
