Cheap and Nice Mee Sotong Smile Mar 31, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Malay | Hawker Centre

Be prepared with tissues when you eat this Mee Sotong from the stall. The chilly is really hot but really satisfying for chillies lover. It has been quite long time that I have eat something that is cheap and nice. Each bowl is only SGD 2! The quantity is not alot but is enough to fill your stomach .. or else you can simply just get another bowl of Mee Rebus at the same price. Mee Rebus is quite standard but for the effort that the stall puts in to cook the dish and the price that we are paying. I think is definitely a worth try!

Spending per head: Approximately $2(Breakfast)

bun Smile Dec 17, 2011

Categories : Japanese | Bakery

If I am not wrong , this is the first shop which I try this crossiant looking bun. They were really very famous few years back at holland village, where people had to call to make booking for this bun in advance. By noon time , the bun is already sold out! I used to be one of them who made order for this, but now this bun is readily avaliable. Other bakery had also come out with similar product, but I must say that Provence's version is still my favourite as it is the softest and able to last for several days, yet maintaining the softness.

Fishball that is soft as cotton Smile Dec 13, 2011

Categories : Teochew | Food Court | Noodles

Most of the time, I do not really pay particular attention on the fishball when I eat fishball noodle. I seem to forget that they should be the 'main character' instead of the noodle. This fishball that I tasted at this foodcourt made me realise that most of the fishball I eat at other place seem to be the same . But this fishball made such a difference that drew my attention. The fishball are really soft!shocked The bowl of fishball noodle does not come cheap ($4.50) but every bowl come with 6 huge fishballs , so I think is worth the money. The condiment used for the sauce was great too. The saltiness and sweetness complement the noodle well. I already went back for a few times and I am still LOVING IT.

Laksa Smile Nov 28, 2011

There are some many 'Katong' Laksa around east side and I really don't know who is the original. This Katong laska is different from the rest which you can simply eat with just a spoon. Not only that , their gravy seem to be much better than those ' katong' laksa which I have tried earlier on.Not sure if this is the improved version or original version , but I am sure this is the best that I have eaten so far. YUM!

Hong Kong roast meat Smile Nov 21, 2011
Categories : Coffeeshop

This shop has been there for quite some years and business seem to be pretty good. So far this is one of the few shops that I find the taste matches the roast meat that I had eaten in Hong Kong. I recall that I used to see the boss around handling the meat years ago but now he seem to have employ staffs to do the work. Standard seem to have dropped slightly but taste is still great compared to others. Items that worth the try : wanton noodle, dumpling soup and Yong Tau Foo.
