Hokkien Mee Smile Dec 17, 2011
Categories : Food Court | Noodles

I never get to try this at the Wisma Outlet. The queue is always super long whenever I pass by. Finally this Hokkien has come to the east! The stock used to fry the mee are really good, as I could really taste the sweetness of prawn that coated the mee. The mee did turn a bit soggy as I left it there for awhile when I went order other food for my family. But overall, it is a satisfying , flavoured Hokkien mee.

dessert  Smile Dec 14, 2011

I was pregnant then when I visited this restaurant, and I still remember that there was this young chap that kept reminding me about the uneven surface just before I was seated. He even gave me a bigger seat where the section was closed so that I could sit comfortably.

Every item on the menu looked attractive, and it would have been much better if I hadn't eaten so full. Prices seem to be higher than the normal dessert that I had eaten elsewhere but taste was really extraordinary. Probably was because they have put different items that we have not seen it elsewhere which make them stand out. It is very seldom to see the combination of mango with black glutinous rice. Nice creativeness!

minestrones Smile Dec 13, 2011

Looking at the cute packaging of the take away box really makes it more appetising for me. Seldom will I see the shop take particular attention on the bread. Either is it chucked away together with the food or it ends up in those transparent plastic bags. This shop got a lid to cover the bread , which was really thoughtful.
Minestrones was one of my favourite item that I will order whenever I visit the soup spoon. I also like the idea that they put up the calories for each soup, which gives us a better idea of what to choose from based on our daily intake. The soups are always filled with lots of ingredient which are really filling after eating. So it can be taken as a meal by itself. No wonder this place is packed with office crowds during lunch hour...

Sushi Tei Smile Dec 12, 2011

I really like the renovation done for this outlet. You have to pass through a walkway before you enter the restaurant. The walkway also provide a good waiting place for customers , long enough to hold the crowds. So you won't get to see people blocking the doorway of other stores near theirs.

Service staff was really kind to give me the seats at the back ( with less disturbance) when she saw me carrying my sleeping baby. We ordered the usual dishes that we usually eat at Sushi Tei .. things like fried rice , fried squid. Everything taste great as usual, and I really love their fried squid. So far this is the best that I have eaten as compared to other Japanese restaurants that I have been to. The beef roll was also another item that I strongly recommend. The mushroom is wrapped with a thin slice of beef , and the juice simply just explodes in your mouth when you chew on it. Nice!

Teochew porridge that rocks! Smile Nov 28, 2011

Today's weather is really suitable to have teochew porridge .. HERE WE GO! chopstick
This place is very neat and clean which is very different from those teochew muay place which I had visited. The order list comes in the' tick what you want' version that is typical found in dim sum restaurants. Without a miss, I would go for the Tau Pok, salted vegetables, and "lor" egg. Decided to try the prawn with tofu dish today, and it was simply wonderful. Prawns were fresh, and the sauce was not overwhelmingly spicy. The tofu is home-made and very soft that it could slither down your throat if you didnt feel like chewing smile Another dish I would recommend is the home made steamed fish cake, something which I have never tried elsewhere before. If you prefer the crispy type, then this fishcake might not be for you, else it goes very well with the chilli sauce and a spoonful of porridge. Lastly, the pot of chrysanthemum tea was just right and not too sweet, the perfect balance to clear your palette for the next mouthful of porridge.
