Polar cake OK Jul 11, 2011

Categories : Bakery | Halal

One of the main food that i like from Polar Puffs & Cakes would be the sugar roll. It is super soft and fluffy, and the amount of sugar is just nice to be sweet yet not sickening. Also, they did not put a lot of cream, and is well affordable at about $1 per piece.

The chicken pie, on the other hand, left much to be desired. It is too buttery for my liking, and also, i do not like the peas inside. There was way too little chicken in the pie too.

Inflation :( OK Jul 11, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Stall / Kiosk | Ice Cream and Gelato

I have not had this for a long time, but i remembered that it was good. So immediately, i went for a double scope, Hazelnut and brownie, and butterscotch. It cost me 6.70, which is higher than i had expected.

The ice cream was as creamy as i had remembered. But, for the hazelnut and brownie, i would rather they would have more of the brownies inside. Hazelnut taste was not strong too. Butterscotch was mediocre too.

I never knew there was a difference between, milk tea and add pudding, and pudding milk tea. But apparently, there is a difference for this shop. The latter, according to the casier, is more expensive but comes with more pudding. So basically, i am paying extra for the pudding. But i was in the mood for pudding! So i went for it.

The pudding is slightly different from the rest of the stores that i had tried. For one, it was not as sweet. But i had ordered my sugar level expecting a certain sweetness from the pudding, so my milk tea ended up less sweet than i had wanted. The milk tea was only average, nothing impressive.

The service was fast though, even though the person in front of me had order a large number of cups, i was served and had my milk tea in hand in within 5 minutes.

Spending per head: Approximately $3.50

Chinese dessert place.  OK Jul 05, 2011

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Restaurant | Chinese Desserts | Desserts and Cakes

Ji De Chi better known for its Bugis branch, and its success apprently extend to its branch in Jurong point. The place was packed, and there was no seats so i was forced to take away instead.

I had the Black Sesame paste, and to my disappointment, it was not as smooth as expected. Paste is supposed to be thick, but this is more of a intermediate between a paste and a soup. The price is steep for a chinese dessert shop, and guess i wont be visiting it any time soon again.

1-1 sandwich  OK Jul 05, 2011

I had never had a main course in Coffee Club before, cause i always have the impression that it should remains to be, a place for coffee and chill out. But i was very tempted by the GSS offer of 1-1 sandwich.

The House Luscious Club looks very tempting, but it was not really my type of dish. The bread was sandwich with generous servings of chicken tikka, but the spice taste was way too strong for my liking.

Royale, on the other hand, tasted much better. The shrimp was fresh and crunchy, and with tender chicken meat, is perfect. The honey chili sauce tasted much like the thai chili sauce.
