Not so good tea Cry Jul 04, 2013
Categories : American

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf should be equally specialized in coffee as well as tea, but that is not the case. I had a cup of peach iced tea, and sadly speaking, it could not be compared to even bubble tea joints. The tea was way too sweet with peach favoring, and totally not thirst-quenching. The price paid is just for the seats, which are quite limited since seats at coffee joints are always occupied by students, studying.

I went to Andersen with a $40 worth of Groupon vouchers to be redeemed, and I should have known better than to go on the last day. I found the waiter rather rude when he knew that we are using the voucher. He might be tired from the crowd, but that is not the way to treat customers. It spoilt our day to be served so badly and even if the food tasted decent, there is no way that I would return to the outlet ever again. The service might be better on normal days, but not for Groupon users to go.

Let me go on to the food reviews. We had the waffle bowl with 5 different scopes, brownie, and a personal fondue. Everything tasted pretty average, and I think only the mango ice cream deserve a special mention. I was expecting sorbet for fruity flavors, but the mango is cream based ice cream and surprisingly refreshing.

Spending per head: Approximately $7(Supper)

Looks nicer than it tastes :( Cry Jun 29, 2013

The prima deli cake looks nicer than it taste. The truffle cake is made up of chocolate sponge and chocolate truffle cream, dusted with coco powder. It should taste rich in chocolate, but that richness didn't occur even after a few bites. The sponge cake is almost tasteless. The good thing about it is that, it comes in small sizes like 300g, which helps in finishing the cake when its not as nice.

Diluted Frappuccino Cry Jun 28, 2013
Categories : American | Coffee

The red bean green tea frappuccino is one of the drinks being promoted for summer times, and the extremely hot weather prompted me to stop by to have an icy drink. Starbucks drinks are mostly up-to standard, very flavorful and rice. Thus, it is to my disappointment that this particular drink did not match my expectation. The drink is extremely diluted that i can barely taste the green tea. On top of it, it is near impossible to get the red bean though the straw! I gave up in the end and requested for a spoon instead. And as usual, this starbucks is packed with student studying, making it hard to get a seat.

Average cakehouse Cry May 14, 2013

Bought this cake a day before Mother's day, and there is another similar cake with an extra chocolate heart that says " Happy mother day". and it cost 3 dollars extra. :/ I sure wont be getting that.

In fact, i got the wrong cake! My mum wanted the pandan chiffon cake, and not this proper pandan kaya cake. (They dont allow for exchange, even though i realised my mistake right after payment, and i did not even step out of the shop)

And when i eat this cake, i understood why my mum would prefer the chiffon. The kaya and pandan combination is sickening sweet, very different from what i used to remember. 2 to 3 bites, and thats all that i can take.

Spending per head: Approximately $25
