Beef Noodle OK Jul 30, 2013

Categories : Hainanese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

Wanted to have my lunch first before shopping thai ingredient to cook for dinner tonight at the Golden Mile. I ordered the Dry Beef Noodle. Well cooked soft and velvety rice noodles coated with savory and gooey braised beef sauces.
Fresh beef slice was succulent and cooked perfectly. Beef ball is bouncy and toothsome. Clear beef broth was packed with loads of beefy flavors. I squeeze some lime into the noodle and it tasted lighter.

Chilling out with my sisters after a heavy dinner. We ordered a few cocktail drinks as there was a promotion going on. Embarrassingly , one of the drinks named Bl*w Job has great coffee aromatic taste of bailey’s and topped with sweet whipped cream. We kept joking about taking turns sharing this drink due to its funny name. Lychee Martini with a hint of lychee smell is sweet, definitely a ladies drink. Red in colored Cosmopolitan looked like ribena but doesn't taste like one, it has light cranberry taste. All the drinks were well mixed.

Brunch OK Jul 30, 2013

Found this simple yet classy looking cafe at J cube. I ordered mushroom mac and cheese, well cooked creamy and moist macaroni and toothsome mushroom hidden underneath a golden crusty cheesy melted cheese. American Breakfast was plain and simple, didn't like that they boiled the sausage instead of the usual grilled ones. Simple toasted bread and canned baked beans doesn't impress me too. If I really have to point out the good thing on this plate, it would be the perfect cooked sunny side up.

I was looking for a place to have lunch on a weekday afternoon and discover this nice and quiet café. I ordered a open sandwich with heaps of chewy and succulent mushroom and tiny bits of aromatic truffles covered with cheesy melted cheddar cheese. Served with a generous amount of fresh crunchy green salad. I got Lemon Meringue Tart for my dessert. Buttery and crumbly tart shell filled with zesty and smooth lemon curb topped with flamed white meringue that tasted like BBQ marshmallows. Would come back again for more desserts.

Prawn Mee OK Jul 30, 2013

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

One of my ex-colleagues who is pregnant has a craving for Prawn Mee, so the usual ‘lunch team’ of friends has to accompany and drive her all the way from bukit timah area to golden mile food centre just to eat the famous Chung Cheng Prawn Mee. I ordered Dried Pork and Prawn with yellow noodle.
Oh gosh, I told uncle ‘chilli put abit’ but ended up have one big pool of chili on my noodle , he may have heard it as “chilli put abit more”. Overall noodle is slighty too oily and salty for my liking but the prawn is big and fresh, pork soft bone is soft and tender. I like their prawn soup which is very flavourful and heavy aroma of prawns.
