Chicken Hotpot Smile Jul 30, 2013

Categories : Sichuan | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hot Pot | Kids-Friendly

I saw a recent food program re-run of this place and saw the sizzling chicken pot so I couldn’t help but hurried down to try. This place is bright, but small and cramped. Servers were fast and responsive. We ordered Signature Chicken Hotpot, Beef Hotpot.

Succulent and spicy chicken parts boiling in thick flavourful sauces; they’ve got a fridge filled with 'steamboat' ingredients for us to chose from and to cook it hands on in the pot. Beef hot pot was soft and tender but we preferred the chicken.

Having supper and catching-up session after movie date with a group of friends, this is a cool chillout place for gatherings. Served by friendly staff, we ordered French Fries, Rote Grutze, Red Tang, Rootbeer Float

The French fries was hot and crispy when served, it was addictive!
I am new to Rote Grutze basically it's a sweet and sour mixed berries pudding (jelly) served with ice cream. Delicious !
As for the drinks , the rootbeer float was frothy and the ice cream was creamy. Red Tang, was very fruity tasting. Mixture of berries and lychee, I had to ask for more ice to dilute it a little. Too sweet.

Charlie Brown Smile Jul 30, 2013

There used to be a Mickey Mouse themed cafe at Anchor Point long time ago but since its closure I've been visiting here instead for the other “cutesy themed” cozy café. Served by a friendly staff, I ordered iced charlie Mocha, French classic. The iced mocha is nice, cold and refreshing. I loved how the little face bubbles above the froth. Crepe was soft and crispy , simply delicious with maple syrup. I hope this place stays for years to come as Charlie Brown would ring a nostalgic bell for those 70s kids.

Plan for breakfast before heading over to pulau ubin for cycling outing!
As this place has been renovated, a new Changi Village Hawker Centre emerges with plenty of seats , cleaner and brighter.
I’ve been looking forward to eating Nasi Lemak all week. There was a queue so it took a while before it was my turn , I ordered a classic plate of Nasi Lemak.
Fluffy and aromatic coconut rice with crispy and juicy fried chicken wings, kuning fish is abit hard (maybe it's meant to be like that), otah is spicy and their Chili is sedap !

Plan for breakfast before heading over to pulau ubin for cycling outing!
As this place has been renovated, a new Changi Village Hawker Centre emerges with plenty of seats , cleaner and brighter. I ordered Fried Carrot Cake (Black) and friendly uncle got it done and served fast!

The soft carrot cake with mouthwatering aroma, nice bitter sweet and charred taste. There were generous portions of eggs hidden under the carrot cake and nice spring onions on the top.
