Maxwell market food centre had closed for renovation for almost 3 months. When news of re-opening was reported, I took the opportunity to dine there since I had some errands to do around the area.

When I was walking around to checkout for the stalls noticed this was a long queue. Being typical Singaporean I decided to join in as well. The best selling dish based on my observation was the mixed grilled. Unfortunately didn't get to try it this time round as it was sold out. Ordered the next dish on the list pork cutlet.It was well grilled till golden brown and goes well with the sauce. I had thought that the bread given was to dip with the sauce, until I had to removed it for eating only then I found there's a cube of butter hidden underneath like a hidden treasure. Of course like other western it will come with fries and mixed vegetables.

This stall used to be ran by 2 sisters until they split for whatever reason. The younger sister open another stall on the other end, which is another story.

I'm reviewing the older sister's stall. The queue and waiting time can take quite a while if you are there for lunch. Most of the office crowd will come in after 12pm. First off picked your food then follow the queue, pass the food to the assistant and they will issue you a number. Hang around and wait for you number to be called.

Front of the stall YTF with Ikan bilisI will usually just take it kosong with soup. You can actually taste the soya beans, I will ask for ikan bilis and it helps sweeten the soup. According to the lady boss the soup she uses is real stuff not other artificial ingredient is added.

The varieties YTF is quite standard. Sometimes the lady boss will experiment on new dishes to see if it suites the tastes of customers.

Highly recommended by my friends. Delicious prata served in air-conditioned environment. Ordered 1 kosong and 1 egg prata, smells so good that I finished all wihout taking any photo. Personally I prefer the kosong prata. The prata is not oily at all and you can even eat it on its own without the curry. The prata is very fresh as they only cook it when you place order. The curry is thick and spicy. Price is quite reasonable but the waiting time can be quite long.

The signboard says Seng Kee Black Chicken Herbal Soup. But the Kidney Mee Suah in Herbal Soup seems to be the more popular dish here. Springy mee sua, sliced pork, liver and kidney served in very tasty herbal soup, topped with generous amount of spring onions. Mee sua is cooked to a perfect texture, soft and not too soggy. Ingredients used are fresh and the kidney does not have strong smell. Waiting time is approx 15 -20mins. During peak hours and weekends the waiting time can take more than 30 mins. But this bowl of tasty mee suah is definitely worth the wait.
