Benten is probably one of the best restaurants to dine in Jurong Point during a Friday night. The restaurant has a lot of seats so I didn’t have to wait for more than 30 minutes for a seat. Benten is probably one of the best restaurants to dine in Jurong Point during a Friday night. The restaurant has a lot of seats so I didn’t have to wait for more than 30 minutes for a seat.

Anyway, I decided to have the Chicken Teriyaki Curry Rice which was served in a boat-like plate. They have nicely separated the curry from the omelette and meat which I found was rather customer friendly since not everyone wants to have their rice soaked in curry. The curry is Japanese curry, which is relatively sweet and doesn’t use coconut milk. It goes well with the chicken which was teriyaki chicken. The teriyaki chicken was covered with sweet teriyaki sauce but the meat could have been a little juicier. The rice regular local rice (instead of Japanese rice) covered with egg (its not wrapped omelette).

It also comes with a small side salad. They use fresh vegetables and I especially liked the sauce they used for their salad. It’s a little like thousand island (maybe it IS thousand island).

It costs $11.80 for the food item. Considering Benten provides the excellent customer service, short waiting time, and tasty food, I would say its worth the money.
