Nestled along a busy stretch of shops right in the heart of Toa Payoh hub, this little Gui Lin Gao (a.k.a herbal jelly) shop serves one of the most authentic Gui Lin Gao in Singapore. The Gui Lin Gao is smooth and rich in flavour. One could easily tell from the taste the amount and variety of herbs added to create this healthy cooling dessert. The soft texture of the Gui Lin Gao melts instantly upon entering the mouth and the cooling sensation will definitely leave you craving for more.

Blended with the sugar syrup (served in a small traditional porcelain teapot), this dessert leaves a bittersweet aftertaste that lingers in the mouth for hours. For those who are more adventurous (like me), eating this in its raw form, though bitter, allows one to savour the richness of the herbs and its untainted flavours.

And best of all, it detoxes the body and aids in healthy digestion and absorption of nutrients. For those who would like to lose weight, this is definitely a must try!
