Today, I was shopping at Orchard Road and wondering what to buy for dinner. I walked pass this Ayam Bakar Ojolali stall and I could smell the grilling aroma from outside. Hence, I decided to buy takeaway for my dinner.I ordered this Grilled Pomfet. The price was not cheap though at $8.When I opened the box, I could smell the heavy aroma of grilling fish. The looked of the Grilled Pomfet was very delicious. The taste of the Grilled Pomfet skin was quite sweet and nice. The Pomfet seem to have been deep fried and then grilled. However, the meat was a little disappointing. The meat though tasted fresh but was quite dry. There were two types of chilli included. Both chilli tasted too spicy and raw, not to my liking. The black chili got the lemon grass taste and the red chilli was quite raw tasting. continue reading

Lucky Plaza is famous for their Ayam Penyet dish from Indonesia and from what I know the competition from different restaurant which served the same dish is quite high. Randomly walk into Ayam Bakar Ojolali and ordered myself their signature Ayam Bakar (since it is named after it, so why not?) and it comes with a piece of fried tauhu, an indonesian pea kind of fried food and the main star, drumstick ayam bakar. I like how the chicken drumstick is being grilled and the meat still retain it's moist inside. If you are a fan of belachan chili, do help yourself with the belachan - it is super spicy and so good that you will keep on scooping the chili into your plate. Ventilation of the restaurant is quite bad, so you will have the bbq smell once you stepped out of the restaurant. continue reading

Had lunch at lucky plaza recently since i got bored of the food at far east plaza. This is one of my favorite place to go in Lucky Plaza. The prices arent that bad. This dish i had was around 6 -7 dollars. I totally forget the name of the dish 0.0. It was something like Ayam penyet. It was really good. I loved the crispy fried stuff. The crunch ;) Service was good and fast to me. I thought it would be full of people since it was lunch hours but no. So it was all good! Thumbs up! continue reading

Had lunch with my colleague at Ayam Bakar Ojolali. Not much difference with Ayam Penyet Ria. The stall was quite small and they have less seats. Environment was quiet, not that too noisy. The sambal was not that spicy, yes, I love spicy! The rice was quite a lot & the chicken was too big for me, I can't finished it up, so I gave it to my colleague. 1 plate cost $7, quite expensive. continue reading
