we love kueh tutu. the ones here are not very good as they tend to get soggy and wet. the filling is rather wet and not very fragrant. the pastry is soft but sometimes too soft as the pastry gets wet easily and melts into a big mess. service is slow and not polite. costs about $3. they have other items like corn cups and dumplings and other steamed kuehs. there is never a queue here and we don't have to wonder why! not really recommended. continue reading

If you pass by this rice dumpling kiosk here, you may not.have realise that they also selling the all the all time favourite dessert yam paste here as well. Love the smooth yam paste here which is not too sweet and you can really taste the natural sweetness from the smashed yam. Moreover the ginko nuts used in it is also chewy and not too soft too. Great to have it when its really hot. continue reading

The cup corn here is really quite bad and no amount of butter and salt can help it! The corn is obviously cooked in water which is chlorinated as the corn tasted like chlorine. And for some reason the corn is chalky. The texture is some sort of powdery. Really odd. Not good. Even theb utter is not real butter, but its margarine. It's only $2, but the quality is really bad. It's like eating fake food. Looks like corn but tastes like chalk. Not recommended. continue reading

We bought a few rice dumplings home for either night snacks or next day's breakfast. The service staff was very friendly. She looks like malay but she can speak mandarin, so cute. Very good service from her. The dumplings are very delicious as the fillings are well marinated and there was a good amount inside the dumpling. The glutinous rice was thoroughly cooked and well flavoured. Not too salty. Very wll balanced taste. continue reading
