Tasting meets my expectation. But not delicate enough for the price. Should have tried their signature ones.. and good service continue reading

I had my new year's eve dinner at Ambush Junction 8. Unlike Christmas eve, this time restaurants were not really packed, we didn't need to be on the waiting list to get the seat. Serving European food, the menus are ranging from German to French food. However, some menus don't have the photo on the menu book (the menu book resembles a magazine btw), thus we had to guess how it would look like, and for some, we really had no idea what the hell they were. Cold WaterIt's refillable and served in a quite wide glassPan Seared Salmon & French Lentils - $18.50The salmon fillet was big and tender. The creamy sauce was delicious as well and had pancetta (Italian pork belly bacon) bits in it. Presentation wise, visually pretty.Sausage Plate - $14.90with Cheese Knacker sausages, potato rosti, and saeurkrautThis menu allows you to choose 1 kind of sausage (out of 4: Cheese Knacker, Bockwurst, French Chicken Garlic, and the other one which I forget haha) and 1 kind of starch (out of 4: potato rosti, potato puree, fries, and pasta). The rosti was decent, it was crispy on the outer part and not too oily. I'm not really fond of sour cream, so I skipped it. Thumbs up for the sausage. The cheese bits oozed out as I cut the sausage. The sausage was quite big in size and juicy, no complain from me.Overall, it was a nice final meal of 2014. Finally, I would like to say happy new year 2015! Wish you all had a great time in 2014 and look forward to a much better life in 2015.For more reviews, kindly visit ariellacahya.blogspot.com continue reading

I wished I had taken a photo, but my phone's battery gave out before the vongole was served. I was dining alone and Ambush's lunch offers caught my eye. Main (Choose from 3) + Drink is for $8.90. I decided to go for the White wine vongole which I've never tried before.. we could choose the type of pasta and I chose linguine. The linguine itself is cooked perfectly al dente, but a pity the sauce was too overpowering in alcohol taste. It ended up being really bitter! :/ Not too enjoyable, but at least the service was wonderful, as usual. They will need to tweak their recipe a bit for this dish or take it down.  continue reading

I got the set lunch, which comes with a Soup of the Day, a Main and a Drink.Soup of the day was Cream of Corn, and it was the soup that's the highlight of the whole meal... Soup was comforting to drink, add in pepper for a spicy kick. There were some corn kernels in the soup too, for added crunch. I liked the soup.Moving on to the Vongole, the wine base was too overpowering. It felt like I was "eating" a very strong alcoholic drink. Linguine could have been a little softer. If I would want to eat vongole, I will go to Peperoni Pizzeria instead, where they are more generous with the pasta and venus clams. Also, their white wine base is done to perfection.I chose the Iced Lemon Tea for my drink, don't bother getting it because it's not sweet, despite adding sugar syrup in it.Doubt I'll be back anytime soon, given that there are so many other better food establishments serving better pastas. Even the pastas at Pizza Hut are better than Ambush, in my opinion. continue reading

Went to Ambush for lunch with my friends. I ordered the set lunch- Baby Scallop Fish Roe Cream Sauce ($10.90). It came with soup and a drink. I chose iced tea. Sugar syrup was provided for it.Soup was corn soup. It's cream based. It was nice. Had some bits of corn which added texture. For the pasta you could choose the type of pasta you wanted- linguine, spaghetti or penne. I chose spaghetti. The fish roe didn't had much taste. The sauce was quite bland, not really creamy and had a strong seafood taste(not really nice). However after adding salt and pepper, it tasted a whole lot better. continue reading
