Hokkien prawn noodle (around $5): I liked that the hokkien mee is very wet and moist. The prawns are fresh and are naturally sweet too. Noodles texture is more to the soft side but not overcooked. The sambal chilli is sufficiently spicy and its slight sweetness and spiciness go well with the noodles and its gravy. The prawn flavour cannot really be tasted in the gravy though. The gravy isn't salty and has just the right taste. Portion is also filling.  continue reading

The Local delight Prawn noodle came with 3 midsized prawns. I had lot of expectations about local delight prawn when I ordered it but I was quite disappointed with the way it was presented and it tasted. The noodle was just fine and plain. The prawns that were in the noodles had to taste at all and was very plain. Priced at $5.20 for a plate, it had nothing special in it and just looked ordinary. continue reading

After a day of 'sampling' food trail and came dinner, we decided to settle it at Food Republic.I love to eat fried hokkien noodle but now I'm more careful of it because of cholesterol, and once in a long long time then will I indulge in one and tonight I had craving over it.So I got a small plate of noddles at $4.50 and the taste was normal, the gravy didn't taste prawnly enough and just passed on as another ordinary fried hokkien noodle. They gave around 3 prawns and can hardly find any squid or meat in it, the chilli was nothing special too. continue reading
