Very often, when someone orders a kebab, you can get to see the chef coming out from the kitchen preparing it in full view of everyone. Doesn’t it look so irresistible? If you want to see something more spectacular, do visit Kazbar on Wedesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays as there will be sizzling hot belly dancers performing as you enjoy your meal. This is something special not to be missed! Now, let me introduce to you the Special Dinner Set ($25 nett person) which Kazbar at Cuppage Terrace is currently having throughout this GSS. It is a 4 course dinner inclusive of 2 starters, a cold and a hot, 1 main course and 1 dessert. For the first course, it is a cold starter plate with hummus, moutabel and babaganoush served with pita bread. Hummus (left) is chickpea puree with tahini and lemon juice. Babaganoush (middle) is grilled eggplant, tomato & capsicum salad. Moutabel (right) is smoked eggplant dip with tahini and lemon juice. The hummus and moutabel have a milder taste while the babaganoush have a stronger taste which I feel that it tasted best with the pita bread. Perhaps, it gotta do with the smoky flavour of the eggplant and the sweet tangy flavour of the tomato and capsicum salad. However, hang on to the hummus
Course #1: Cold Starter Plate – with hummus, moutabel and babaganoush
The second course is a hot starter with cheese borek and falfel. Don’t be fool by its appearance as it may seem like a sesame cookie and fried spring roll to some. In actual fact, the falafel (left) is made of chickpeas and beans tossed in aromatic spices which have a very unique taste. The cheese borek (right) contains herbs and feta cheese pastry and both are served in a creamy yogurt sauce topped with black sesame. Both are really delicious especially the cheese borek will certainly appeal to cheese lovers out there!
Course #2: Hot Starter Plate – with cheese borek and falafel
For the main course, it’s a huge spread of food for your hungry stomach. Be wow by their ever popular char-grilled succulent lamb chop, tender shish kebab, flavoursome shish taouk and the skinny pizza prepared with their very own secret recipe. Accompanied by 2 sides, chunky criss cut french fries and garden salad, this main is sure going to satisfy your appetite and taste buds once and for all.
Course #3: Main Course – Lamb chop, shish taouk, shish kebab served with french fries and salad
It’s a tradition for the Arabs to enjoy a good hot cuppa coffee or tea to after a sumptuous meal and enjoy the company of each other. For the last item, we have the Baklawa which is a sweet pastry with assorted nuts and honey syrup. It is served with your choice of milk coffee or tea with mint leaves. The pastry is very delectable and goes really well with tea or coffee. It’s perfect for someone with a sweet tooth like me to enjoy after a hearty meal.
Course #4: Baklawa – with your choice of Tea or Coffee
You may want to chill out with nice cool glass of cocktail after a day of shopping or just hang around with friends to catch the World Cup. Do try their very own Kazbar special which is connoted with Gin, cointreau, Arabic gum syrup, sour mix, topped with soda water and blended mint leaves. This drink is exclusively available at Kazbar and nowhere else!

Still hungry for more? Do try the Chicken Shawarma (marinated grill chicken served with pita bread and harissa sauce) is another one of the “must try” dishes at Kazbar. The chicken slices have been marinated overnight for at least 10 hours and grilled till its aromatic and succulent. Together the pita bread and harissa sauce, this have become one of my favourite dish.
