The Return of the SFF
2011-07-06
Make sure there’s space in your tummies for the Singapore Food Festival (SFF)is back from 15 to 24 of July only! For the 18th year running, we can indulge ourselves once again in a gastronomic journey wherein we will be rediscovering our country’s multi-cultural heritage and culinary diversity through good food. We love our spices, and so, the theme for this year’s food event aptly revolves around our beloved curries and spices. “This Singapore Food Festival, we highlight flavourful culinary ingredients that have defined our diverse local cuisine. Curries and spices are the essences of our multi‐ethnic cuisine, and over the years, these flavours combined into well‐loved dishes that have evolved together with our society and culture. Through experimentation and reinterpretation of curry and the use of spices, we have arrived at an interesting point in our culinary evolution. Our food reflects the manifold aspects of Singapore’s own multicultural heritage, and this is what we will be showcasing at the Festival,” said Mr Andrew Phua, Director of Precinct Development at the STB. From its previous crab logo, it has also updated its look to become a mortar and pestle to best represent what we’re celebrating this year. This year, we can expect over 60 food stalls and more than 100 participating establishments from the surrounding malls. The whole duration of the Singapore Food Festival will also be studded with gastronomic culinary adventures which are:
