Sentosa food guide
At the Southern tip of Singapore lies Sentosa Island, a 500-hectare land packed with golden beaches, spa retreats, amusement parks, large aquariums and even luxe residences. Amidst lush greenery and free-roaming peacocks, Sentosa features five main zones: Resort World Sentosa, Imbiah Lookout, Beaches, Serapong and Sentosa Cove. Besides highlighting some exciting attractions within each zone, here’s a food guide to the island which will likely come in handy once that tummy rumbles. How to get there: Besides driving in, you can take the Sentosa Express monorail from VivoCity, swing in by cable car from Harbourfront Tower or Mount Faber, or on foot via the Sentosa Boardwalk linked from VivoCity’s waterfront promenade – the only option that gets you free admission!

Resorts World Sentosa

If you’re looking for something fancy, this is where you’ll find a star-studded concentration of celebrity chef restaurants such as L’Atelier de Joël Rubuchon, Forest™, Osia, Syun and Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora™ – the latter accompanied with an awe-inspiring view of the S.E.A. Aquarium™. Within the resort’s hotels, Feng Shui Inn at Crockfords Tower is perfect for settling dim sum cravings. But for a more laid back dining experience nonetheless filled with tons of culture, take your taste buds to Malaysian Food Street for Penang char kway teow, Klang bak kut teh and other Malaysian hawker favourites. And for amusement park goers, Loui's NY Pizza Parlour is your best bet for a good and affordable meal within Universal Studios Singapore™. Imbiah Lookout

Taking the cable car to Sentosa lands you straight at Imbiah Lookout, which is packed with 11 attractions ranging from wax museum Madame Tussauds Singapore to the Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom for nature lovers. Grab a cuppa from café chain Joe & Dough, which serves wholesome gourmet sandwiches, hot chocolate with marshmallows and sweet potato tortillas if all you need is a light snack. For a more substantial meal, step into Mövenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa for high tea or a full-fledged international buffet at Tablescape. Whisky connoisseurs mustn’t miss the hotel’s whisky lounge – World of Whisky, stashed with premium and rare whiskies from around the globe. Beaches

You’re bound to get hungry after hours of frolicking on the golden sandy beaches, playing beach volleyball or paddle boarding along the Siloso Beach. If you hadn’t already packed a picnic, pop into Tanjong Beach Club for their well-loved truffle fries paired with a cocktail or two, or beers and pork belly sliders over at Bikini Bar, Singapore’s first and only Bintang bar. For adrenaline junkies, ride the waves over at Wave House Sentosa before seeking solace at their in-house restaurant and bar. Think mussels in white wine and tangy tomato sauce, lamb shank risotto or a light nacho snack before round two on the Flowrider. And new to the beach zone is Kidzania, an interactive indoor theme park where kids can role-play as surgeons and pilots amongst other careers and earn a 'salary' along the way! Serapong

This quieter part of Sentosa Island houses the posh resorts and spas, as well as the Sentosa Golf Club. Even if you aren’t a guest in these establishments, the restaurants here are well-worth the journey in. Over at Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa, Shutters offers a gourmet-worthy steak and foie gras burger, while afternoon tea at The Knolls in Capella Singapore has been an all-time favourite amongst locals. If you fancy a dip in a pool, Kwee Zeen’s Magnifique champagne brunch gains you access to free-access to the one at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa, which is also home to the newly reopened Italian restaurant, ilLido at the Cliff. Sentosa Cove

Luxe residences with golf buggies for transportation aside, Sentosa Cove contains an escape to woo brunch lovers and city-escapers all the same – Quayside Isle. Take your pick from the row of cafes and restaurants that offer the same beautiful yacht view along the boardwalk. We recommend Kith Café for a classic and casual brunch session, Sabio By The Sea for Spanish tapas and MUSEO for an art-inspired European meal with a tinge of Asian influence. Love steaks? Don’t miss Skirt at W Singapore. (Images: Kith Cafe Facebook Page, OpenRice user Kelleysweetie, Sabio By The Sea)
