Formerly tucked away in a small shophouse along Purvis Street, in hot and humid conditions, patronised and followed by beef noodles lovers, I had enjoyed their beef noodles at their Purvis Street outlet and did not realise that they moved to the other street beside them and gone through a revolutionary change in their layout, design, decoration and history.

Before I go further, let me introduce their famous trademark dish, the Hock Lam Street Popular Beef Kway Teow. The gravy is not too thick, nice and smooth (if you choose the dry noodles option), holding it up well even when the noodles/kway teow is mixed with the beef portions.

There are different varieties of beef portions that you can order with your beef kway teow and I chose the mixed Beef dry Kway Teow set, a nice mixture of beef slices, beef balls, beef intestines and liver.

The beef portions are tender and tasty, not overcooked and definitely fresh. Take a closer look at the crushed peanuts and pickled vegetables on my beef noodle, that's 2 key ingredients that makes it special too ! The chili and fish sauce, along with their soup, is a must have combination of spices and seasoning to complement your beef noodles/kway teow.

The current outlet at 38 Seah Street is so much nicer and better, in terms of floor size (hold more customers), nice air-conditioning, beautiful walls fitted with history of Hock Lam Beef, nice tables and chairs. From the days I had their beef kway teow at Purvis Street a few years ago, their standards have remained and their beef kway teow still taste just as authentic and delicious.

If you around Beach Road / Seah Street area, do drop by and try them out !
