I just had my lunch at Bali Thai. Came across a very interesting concept in their menu where they allow you to mix and match the choice of your noodle (eg. Egg noodle, Glass noodle, Hokkien noodle, Kway Teow, Phad Thai noodle), ingredients of various choices to pick from and also the type of sauce.

For my lunch, I picked the glass noodle, seafood ingredients and Tom Yum sauce. I felt that the glass noodle was a bit too dry. It could have been better if they served the glass noodle that's not so dry and comes with some Tom Yum gravy. I also felt that the Tom Yum wasn't that spicy at all. I even felt it tasted a bit diluted, when I compared it with other Tom Yum dishes that I had tried before.

For the ingredient portion, they did give a reasonable portion. My meal comes with 2 mussels, 2 prawns, 2 squids and plenty of button mushrooms and carrots. However I felt it could have been better if they provide more prawns/squids/mussels instead of sticking to 2 for each of them.

Throughout the meal, soothing Thai songs played in the background. Although I don't understand a single word of Thai, but some songs are soothing and catchy and I felt it certainly enhance the diner's meal experience. Even the inner decorations had a Thai feel to it. The whole atmosphere feels very Thai.

The waiters/waitresses service were good too. They were very attentive and prompt in serving you when you signal to them. They are also quite polite too when they are taking orders.

My meal cost $10.90. With GST and service charge, final cost was around $12.75. Still quite reasonable for a meal at Orchard, but I felt it's a little expensive, considering that there are only 2 prawns & 2 squids & 2 mussels.
