After we had visited S.E.A Aquarium, we have our lunch at Malaysian Food Street. We say many people queing at this stall and thought we give it a try. This hokkien mee was very special as thick noodles which seems to be like Japanese Udon was used and it was being fried in black soy sauce which I had eaten in another place before which I kind of like the taste of it. But for this dish, I am not sure if the was because there are too many people queuing for it where they are rushing for time, the quality was not good at all. Firstly, the Noodle was not nicely cooked as there are still some parts which I felt is uncooked (Hard). Secondly, the soy sauce was not really marinated with the Hokkien Mee, it was more like it was being covered with lots of black soy sauce as I can still taste strong soy sauce. Lastly, it is very oily though not sure if it was due to black soy sauce or they added too much oil to it. I would not recommend to eat at this stall though I am not sure why there are so many people queuing for it. 繼續閱讀

Whenever I am in KL, I always make a point to visit Jalan Alor and feast on all the hawker food. Thrilled to see a Malaysian food street inside RWS. It's good that there is such a food street as well that offers cheaper food alternative to all the pricey restaurants available.I had a Hokkien Mee. Malaysia version is different as you can see it's fried in black sauce. The taste was not too bad though fried by a China man. It had got the flavours like those you get in malaysia. The noodles was fat white ones thats very springy and nice to chew. The prawns and pork fried in it were fresh and the pork especially was extremely fragrant. overall thumbs up! 繼續閱讀

Back to eat the KL hokkien mee at resorts world sentosa as i really like it a lot. Was here on a sunday night at around 7.30 and surprisingly there was only a few people in the queue and the waiting time was quite short, only around 15 minutes. Once you placed the order, the lady will write your number on the receipt and you can come back to collect your food once they beep for your number which was more convenient as you can save time by ordering at other food stalls. The KL hokkien mee is very fragrant and although the serving is not a lot but it is sufficient enough to fill your stomach. There is also 3 prawns in each plate and the black sauce goes very well with the noodles. 繼續閱讀

This is a must order dish for my mum, even when we go to KL. So she will not miss to have this dishes whenever it is available. That is how Sis ended queuing up after ordering claypot rice 2 stalls away. There was already a queue even though it was still early for dinner. The wait was about 10mins, before she is served with a pipping hot plate of black noodle. This version is very different from our local white version. It is fried with one type of noodle and good black sauce is used to make this dishes. The noodle has some black gravy and pieces of green leafy vegetables & seafood. I found this stall noodles too soft to my liking, not sure if they over-cooked the noodles or use the wrong type of noodles. 繼續閱讀

Hokkien noodles mee is my favourite and one could hardly find it in Singapore! This Hokkien mee from the famous Alor Street in KL tasted not bad. The noodles is well-cooked but not too soaky, the gravy is thick and flavourful. However, I reckon it would taste so much better if it has more pork lard so to really enhance the flavour. Just a personal taste though. 繼續閱讀
