Ordered this bowl of Zha Jiang mIan for only $3. I would say it was quite worth it because they gave a lot of minced meat sauce with the cucumbers.. but after eating awhile, i got quite sick of it. The sauce became very gooey and sticky, so do eat it while it's hot! Also, the service was really slow as the hawker told me it would only take 3 minutes but I waited almost 15 minutes. No wonder they have a queue number

One of my friends studying at NTU recommended us to try the Xiao Long Baos (XLBs) from Canteen 1. Although obviously it cannot be compared to restaurants like Din Tai Fung or Crystal Jade, it is much cheaper! DTF/CJ sells 6 XLBs at $6.50 but this place sells 6 XLBs for only $3.50! It's almost half the price. Price = Quality! As it is relatively cheap, we ended up ordering 1 more basket to satisfy our XLB craving! It is definitely worth a try, especially if you study here!

Went to ntu to meet my friends and my friend recommended this xiaolongbao stall that was quite good. We took the shuttle until hall 1 and climbed many steps before reaching canteen! The waiting time was quite long though, so be prepared to wait for about 5-10mins before you can take the food. Initially we ordered one xlb basket which contains 6 xlb for $3.50. But we just got addicted to eating it so we ordered another basket. I didn’t find it extremely nice because it’s just like any xlb though

Canteen 1 is always filled with lots of people especially during lunch and dinner hours. I often order the xiao long bao from here and it tasted really juicy! This time I ordered the cong you bing and it tasted not bad but the crust was a little too thick for my preference. I also ordered shang hai jian bao which tasted good with sufficient amount of meat inside! Overall experience was good!

If you are looking for somewhere near to satisfy your xiao long baos craving, this stall is it! The xiao long baos here are good and cheap. 6 xiao long baos for only $3.50! The skin does not break. The skin at the top of the XLBs is kinda thick though but still acceptable. The dumplings are good too. I have only tried the XLBs and dumplings so far. The fried buns look promising too. I'll try that next time.

I love love love dumplings! Saying that, it also means that I've eaten many variations of dumplings at different places so guess that makes me a credible dumpling-connoiseur? Heh! There are actually many canteens situated in NTU selling dumplings, like Canteen B (South Spine) and Food Connection (North Spine). I've eaten dumplings at both canteens... but I must say that my favourite dumplings are now from Canteen 1! Food Connection's dumplings are *not bad* but more expensive than Canteen B's.

After exams, my friends and I headed to ntu canteen 1 which was near our exam venue for lunch. It was pretty crowded with students and office workers.
