I always go to Ji De Chi for their durian desserts, and didn't really try out other options. Howvere, now only I realized their soya beancurd dessert is actually quite nice. This silky beancurd has such a strong flavour of soya beans and the texture is pleasantly smooth. Very tasty and not too sweet. It tastes so delicious and refreshing when it is served cold. Here at Ji De Chi, I will always order my favourite dessert which is the black sesame hot dessert. The black sesame cream is really smooth in texture and is thick in flavour. I like it alot as it is not too sweet so I will not have to worry about too much sugar intake after having this hot dessert. At less than three dollars per bowl, I think the price is quite reasonable and their serving is quite fast as well. Ji De Chi dessert shop is famous for their ice-shaved. However, I reckon other desserts are pretty tasty too! For instant, I have tried their Double milk with fresh durian ($4.5)! It's so delicious. You get to taste the silkily smooth double milk, as well as the rich flavoured durian filling in one go! How fantastic is that. If you are the durian lover, you could get more durian filling with an additional $1. Sawdust pudding ($5) is worth a try too. I have tried the green tea flavour that served with red bean. Viisted Ji De Chi Dessert just opposite of the famous Ah Chew Dessert in Liang Seah street area. Was quite skeptical about the place as i always patronise the latter. Nvertheless, decide to give it a try. I ordered the cold steamed milk, it cost me $3.20. The steam milk at Ji De Chi tasted the same as Ah Chew's, if not better. This water chestnut cake or ma ti gao is a perfect dessert to cool down after a heaty meal. From the picture you can already see the high chunks of chopped chestnuts within the cake which shows that the stall does not stinge on the ingredients. The chestnut cake is very juicy and the chopped chestnuts add a lot of crunch and bite to the cake. I love this crunchy texture than having the chestnuts minced finely. Tried a few of the desserts at Ji de Chi.Mixed ball ginger soup ($2.50). I love spicy ginger soup and this one was fierce. Love it. The balls were thin-skinned and had ample filling. I also like the traditional look of pink balls. Durian with pomelo ($6). This was blardy brilliant! Every time I eat durian, I will get sore throat the next day. I'm not hot, but "heaty." When I first ate this at the now-closed-down Chinatown branch, it blew me away, it was made of bittersweet durian. So great! The quality of the durian has dropped a little--perhaps a different supplier to save costs?--but still good at any standards. This is a must-order. I used to frequent ah chew desserts until someone recommended ji de chi to me. Ah Chew is more favorable for hot dessert; while we decided to go for some cold ones. They just located facing each other. Ji de chi offers more varieties, and I have always managed to get seated immediately (after dinner).The durian Pamelo sago is my favorite dessert here and I keep returning for more - a must try for durian lovers. It is mostly durian puree, topped with a scoop of durian flesh, some pamelo and sago. The portion is abit small and before you know it, it's finished. It is my second time having their dessert, not bad - must try! Despite having a few dessert houses along Liang Seah Street, it is still filled with people.Why Ji De ChiTheir snow ice is ambrosial, every mouthful is full of flavour and I like the way the ice is fold.I had the banana flavour which is extremely nice to the bits! After dinner, we decided to grab some dessert. So we went Ji De Chi. We waited a while before getting our seats. Cheapest dessert range from $2 to the more expensive ones at $4. We had Orginal Herbal Jelly and Mango grape fruit ice as I'm a Mango lover. The mango was fresh and matched well with the grape fruit. It is not overly sweet and still can tasted the mango. Heavenly~ The herbal jelly is quite good. Heard Ji De Chi had really nice desserts, so decided to pop by after having dinner at Tai Seng (yes, i went all this way just to have desserts!). When i reached there with my friends, the place was quite packed. We had to wait a while before there were seats available. The menu was quite intensive, with choices for both hot or cold for some of their desserts. Prices were also considered quite reasonable. Come all the way, of course it's a MUST to try their durian desserts!
