My first encountered with this roselle drink was during my annual vacation with my family in Taiwan.Ever since Roselle Drink was introduced at Din Tai Fung, I will not fail to order this favourite drink to go along with my meal.The Roselle drink served at DTF is very concentrated, therefore I would remind the waitress to serve this drink with another glass of iced water. I would generally take a few sips when served and subsequently add the ice water to dilute the taste. Very refreshing.Recently

Went to the Din Tai Fung at Tampines (which is pretty near my place). The queue was rather long on a weekend and had to wait for around 30mins. Order a couple of dishes, including appetisers (mixed veg palate), fried rice as well as their signature xiao long bao. I particularly liked the fried. The rice are chewy with the right amount of oil (and the grains are not cluttered together). While it does not have a lot of stuff in it, the rice itself is good (but need other dishes to complement).

Another appetizer from Din Tai Fung for beancurd lovers.This special dish comprises of pieces of deep fried beancurd aka locally "tow pok", strips of black fungus, sliced mushroom and bamboo shoot cooked together with honey sauce. The crunchy slices of bamboo shoot refreshed the overall flavour of this dish. If you have not tried smoked duck wrapped with spring onion in spring roll skin, you can consider adding this to your order list.This pastry is divided into smaller pieces for easy consumption and must be eaten immediately upon serving. Generous slices of thick spring onion stalks and thinly shredded lettuces goes very well with the pre-heated smoked duck meat making this appetizer more refreshing.You don't even require any sauce to go along with this dish.

Din Tai Fung not only known for their ever famous "Xiao Long Bao", their Appetizers are just as great.Fragrant Pork with Crushed Garlic is a must try. The refreshing thinly sliced lengthy pork (similar to shabu shabu cut) are wrapped with a thick sliced of fresh cucumber steeped with lots of crushed garlic sauce combined with sesame and scallions.

I have waited more than thirty minutes outside the restaurant to wait for my queue numbers before my turn is up to settle down at our table. Tough waiting but fortunately the wait was quite worth it since the restaurant environement is cooling enough and quite spacious. Despite being in heartland mall (instead town), it is amazing that this restaurant is crowded even on weekdays lunch time. Nevertheless, it is justifiable that this place is crowded as it serves good food consistently. Super long queue outside the restaurant. They even have a row of seats outside along with number calls. Anyway, the waiting wasn't too bad. I had my seating after like 15minutes. We had their xiao long bao (Steamed dumplings) and i find it average. The skin is a little too dry though. I ordered another dish of fragrant pork. recommended by friends that din tai fung's famous dish : xiao long bao (steamed pork dumplings) , dim sum etc we decided to dine in this restaurant to try the dishes the restaurant serves handmade instant xiao long bao where you can see the chef making it , the restaurant serve not only dim sum but also nice signature dishes noodles ,rice , desserts we ordered the xiao lao bao , the bao was soft and dripping with soup , the meat was tender and melt in your mouth . the prawn is fresh and big .
