On my first visit I tried their German sausages and pork knuckle. This time round, I'm trying their pasta dish and the highly popular Belgian mussels pot.For drinks, I ordered a mocktail Green Apple Mojito $5.50++. This is basically fruit flavored syrup and soda, nothing special.Mussels & Clams mixed pot w/ white wine sauce $18++, mussels and clams are air flown twice weekly to ensure freshness. Choice of 3 cooking style (Aglio Olio, Thai Basil & White wine), the white wine sauce contains bacon bits, onion, garlic & parsley. The broth was rather light and flavorful, I can taste the natural sweetness of the plump and juicy mussels and clams...very delish.The Garlic bread (focaccia bread) that comes with the mussels pot (choice of bread, fries or mash potato) was soft, fluffy and garlicky...pretty good but I gotta save my stomach for the pasta main course. Tip, dip the bread in the mussel sauce, its yummy.Pan seared Norwegian salmon pasta w/ Thai basil sauce $13.20++ (choice of spaghetti, linguine, penne or fusilli). The Thai basil sauce is a tomato based sauce with a tang, I suspect tom yum/lemongrass was added in the sauce. Basil leaves were used sparingly so that it will not overpower the taste of the sauce...very palatable indeed. The salmon was cooked just right, tender and juicy...fantastic pairing of protein and carbo!Ambush impresses me yet again with its high quality food at reasonable prices. Plaza Singapura is a contemporary shopping mall located along Orchard Road, the restuarant in the mall is pack with people, Q-ing almost all restuarant but surprising Ambush not much people & we'll give it a try...With 4 of my friend, We placed our orders and the serving was within 20 minutes time... that's fast!!The Main Dish isn't that great (Forget those Main Dish) but surprising the side dish Mixed Pot (Mussels and Clams) we had was pretty nice, and we thought that the Vin Blanc (white wine) sauce was tasty yet didn't overpower the taste of the seafood...Mini sausage platter (Grilled mini chicken garlic and chicken cheese sausage with mustard and brown sauce dip) Good for sharing (and with some beer!), the sausages were nicely warm from the grilling and goes very well with the mild mustard...!!And of cos their Mashed Potatoes, one of the tastiest mashed potatoes that we've ever had~!!Whenever I return to Ambush for meal, will order their side dish instead of Main dish...The food is pretty satisfactory for casual... :)…查看更多

I've passed by this restaurant many times before, heard my friends rave about it, but this is actually my first time trying the food here. The place was rather lively on Christmas Eve, filled with lots of office people making merry with their colleagues.Check out their Christmas-y menu decked out with reindeers, X'mas trees and all things merry.I decided to order the Risotto with Pancetta & White Truffle Oil ($17.50). Risotto is one of my favourite Italian dishes and the portion here was just right. A spoonful of risotto with french beans, chunks of pancetta (Italian pork belly bacon), mushrooms and parmesan cheese! The flavour of the white truffle oil is definitely quite pronounced.We also shared a serving of their signature Mussel Pot, soaked in white wine and cooked just right. Mussels are pretty delicate, so it was a delight to find that the mussels here were cooked really skillfully. Great food hunting experience at Ambush, it reminded me the cuisine from France. The spacious of design made people felt happier indirectly, it was well-decorated. Menu offered a huge range of selections of Europe, there was always the freshest ingredients in their cooking. The idea of this platter was simple and carefree, just a drumstick standing. Well-seasoned along the creamy gravy, it was displayed nicely on the plate. Duck appeared tempting, taste even better. A crispy outlay with moistly flesh, the combination was perfect. Price was nothing to complain about, approximately $18.00 for mine. I was actually attracted by the food tasting session at Ambush published on Openrice Page, that’s why I came here to check it out. Headed over to Ambush for Lunch at plaza sing, Had the seafood paella with marinara sauce. Was okay, prices were also pretty reasonable as well. Friends had the spaghetti in basil sauce and pan-fried salmon and it was pretty good, they were generous with the serving of the huge fillet of salmon. I was planning to try their main food for a long time and when a chance came, I decided to use it and I should say that I’m quite impressed with the food and service. The duck confit on Mash was quite a delight and it was well presented, perfectly flavored and the best part is the cost is reasonable. The duck meat was properly roasted and was presented along with wonderful tasting mash potatoes. Neatly made with homemade orange and tomato sauce, the duck confit is perfectly placed on top of fresh, soft mashed potatoes. Though everything was good, the meat could have been a little juicier. Remember to go for their lunch special, for just $15 and below, you get to choose a main with soup of the day and a drink. I order the bockwrust sausage with cranberry rice & fries. The rice was very tasty with bits of cranberry to enhance the taste. The sausage was so soft and chewy, together with the huge chunk of fries. It's been quite a while since my last visit to Ambush. I've only been to Junction 8 (Bishan) branch. The one at Plaza Singapura is my first visit. Was really hungry on this particular visit so my friend and i shared 2 items together - SwissGerman Sausage Platter & Ambush's Paella. I love my seafood and meat so it's great choices! Let's talk about the Ambush's Paella - white clams, mussels, queen scallop, prawns, sliced bacon & sausage. The presentation already makes me want to eat it immediately! Looks nice and colorful. My friend & I decided to dine at Ambush before our movie starts as they were having a set lunch promotion which consist of a main, a complimentary soup of the day and a choice of drink. The soup of the day was Clam Chowder, which was pretty average. For drinks, I had a regular coffee while my friend chose the hot tea. I ordered the Ambush's Paella and it was delicious! The portion was just right for me and it was so rich and full of flavour, love the sauce they use in it! My friend had the Salmon Fillet pasta with Thai Basil sauce and she love it as well. Have to make reservation early. Otherwise there might e queue when it comes to lunch or dinner time.This is a red wine dish. Only this dish taste very bitter. It is as though it is soaked in herbal wine and feels like you are drinking some tonic soup. The Ambush Paella is a great dish! I was at Plaza Singapura for my monthly facial on Saturday. My session was done by 5pm, so I decided to have an early dinner at Ambush at PS extension area.The restaurant has an open concept bistro style decor with clean and chic wooden furnishings.The restaurant was still quite empty at this hour so I got to choose where I wanna sit.There was a newspaper style menu to introduce the diners to the restaurant's European dining concept and well categorized meals and specialties by different countries.The Swiss/German wurst section caught my eye, so I picked the Oktoberfest platter as my main course, a Bruschetta appetizer and a mango juice for drink.The Mango juice $3.50++ was alright, sweet and has a slightly thick texture like those juices you get at Hotel's Buffet breakfast.The Bruschetta $3.80++ was served on a focaccia bread instead of the usual baguette toast. The bread was soft but a little soggy after being drenched with the tomato salsa sauce. The tomato salsa was very good, tomato was freshly chopped and tossed with a citrusy and slightly spicy dressing...simply refreshing!After a short wait, my main course arrived. The Oktoberfest platter $17.80++ consists of a portion of German pork knuckle, a Bockwurst, a Smoked bratwurst, fresh greens, mashed potato (I topped up $2 to change to Rosti) served with sauerkraut and sour cream.This is a plate full of porky goodness. The pork knuckle was quite tender and comes with a crackling skin. The porky sausages were also very plump and juicy. They are a little bit salty which is normal and should be eaten with the Rosti. The Rosti's golden brown surface was crispy and the potato strands underneath was soft and fragrant, extremely delish. This dish would have been 100 marks if the sauerkraut serving weren't so tiny.I managed to save some space for dessert and ordered a Brownie with vanilla ice cream & whipped cream $6.80++.The brownie was too sweet, the ice cream and whipped cream pairing could not effectively balance out the overpowering sweetness from the brownie. I couldn't finish this dish.Overall dining experience here was good, service was decent and prompt, food quality was above my expectation and prices were reasonable. Ambush is a great place for casual European dining, which serves really good quality food! Personally i like their pasta and i feel its better than other restaurants. As i was not very hungry, I decided to try one of their appetisiers which was meatballs with fries. The meatballs were flavourful and tasted great! Seemed better than the meatballs at Ikea. For their fries, it was average but thicker than the usual fries though. Overall, it was a great experience dining at Ambush given the great ambience in the restaurant too! …查看更多

Ambush is a restaurant which serves European cuisine and I have heard many good reviews about it! Hence I decided to try their bratwurst with rosti. It also comes with a small portion of salad and sour cream. The fried rosti was buttery and tasted really nice! Their sausages were extremely flavourful and had a smokey taste too. The meat was soft and cooked to perfection. With the salad and sour cream, they really compliments the dish well! My friend bought a groupon deal earlier on for ambush and we went there to dine in together. First time trying ambush and it is located at the new branch of plaza sing. Norwigian salmon fillet . Very innovative dish as they used thai basil sauce, not the usual tomato based sauce. And it taste good! not too rich or too plain. Also, the pan seared salmon fillet is very well done, no fishy smell at all. The usual price of this dish is SGD$13.20++ I only paid around $10 due to the groupon deal …查看更多

Plaza Singapura upgraded plus the new extension really makes one feel as if it has became a brand new mall. This place is new, modern looking and clean. Meeting my cousin for lunch, we ordered Oktoberfest Platter and Rosti.Oktoberfest Platter - Big salty crunchy bratwurst with creamy mash potato topped with mellow tasting brown sauce.
