After shopping at Bugis area, I decided to have Lunch at kopitiam instead of expensive restaurant in the malls. I chanced upon this kopitiam whereby almost every stalls having a long queue. I decided to queue at this traditional looking Hainanese Curry Rice stall. The queue time was not long, about 15 minutes.I ordered the Curry Rice set and added the braised pork. The total cost was $4. the serving was quite big at this price. The amount of curry gravy on the rice was over-whelming. The curry rice had a nice curry aroma. The curry gravy did not taste spicy, but more of savory curry. The curry gravy was good to eat with rice and the meat together. The braised pork was good, it was braised until the meat absorbed the herbal gravy. The fried pork fillet was a bit disappointing. The meat fillet was very thin and I could not taste the pork meat, I thought it was flour instead. The fried cabbage was disappointing, it was over-cooked and mashy. 繼續閱讀

This curry rice stall is one of the popular stall in this coffeeshop as told by my friend.  Out of curiosity, I decided to buy back a packet home to try.  The stall aunty was not really that friendly and speak quite loud and not courteous at all.  The stall is also quite messy and dirty.  But as most people say good food are always not that hygience, so I decided to ignore this fact and continue my purchase.  For $3, I have ordered my rice with curry gravy and some braised pork with cabbage. When I brought home and eat after 30 minutes journey, the rice is already very dry and curry gravy was totally absorbed into the rice.  cabbage was overcooked and make it not so tasty and disappointing.  Fortunately the braised pork is chewy and tender.  Portion is quite huge and good enough to fill my stomach after I have finished it.   繼續閱讀

Eleven Finger (Eu Kee) Scissors Curry Rice is located in a coffee shop called 'Rong Liang Ge Eating House' behind Bugis+ (formerly Iluma). The stall serves Hainanese style curry rice. Although there is always a long queue during lunch hours, the turnover is quite fast. They sell just a few items such as chicken wings, fried egg, tau pok, stewed cabbage (chap chye), braised pork belly as well as fried pork chop. From the photo above it is hard to figure out what I ordered. Well, I ordered chicken wings, pork chop and stewed cabbage (extra cabbage). It was drenched in a generous serving of curry sauce. Three type of curry sauce to be exact. Hence, you might notice a different shade in colour of the curry sauce at certain portions. The curry was thick, fragrant and yet not overly spicy. Having it all over the food made the food so wet yet so tasty and easy to eat. Shiok! The cabbage and chicken wings were good with the former providing a crunchy bite. On the other hand, the pork chop was disappointing. Nevertheless, the curry sauce stole the show. With it, I polished off the whole plate of food easily. This stall is at the coffee shop next to the food centre. I usually come here during lunch as it is less crowded as compared to the food centre. I always order from this curry rice stall. There is always a queue if you come during the peak period like lunch or dinner. There is a good range of dishes to choose from. Some of the must order dishes are their fried pork chop, brasied meat, curry sotong and curry vegetable. Their curry sauce is aromatic with a well-balanced spiciness. It is good even for those that do not take spicy foods. 繼續閱讀
