I accompanied my bf for a late dinner yesterday night and we decided to go to LJS thinking that it's fast food and my bf is starving. However, fast food is not fast at all. There is only one counter that is open and we Q for a long time. When we reach the Q was about 2 people in front of us and by the time we finish buying the Q is already super long and there were about 9 people Q-ing. Finally we got our food and the taste is just like the other branches, nothing fantastic to talk about. My bf ordered the 3 piece chicken meal while i had a chocolate cream pie. His chicken tasted the usual and mine was a little too soft and not really to my liking ( not too sure if it's supposed to be that soft or the fridge is not working well). LJS's special combo for the Chinese new year festival. I bought 2 sets as there is a free spin with a purchase of 2 different sets (one with chicken and the other set with fish), which come with drinks. Got a coke keychain from the free spin. Other than the usual deep fried fish and french fries are my favouite from this fast food outlet, I also enjoy having their cold chocolate pie after my meals here too. The chocolate pie is affordable and delicious. The creamy chocolate is very smooth in texture and the chocolate flavour is very appetitizing as well. It been donkey years since I last had Long John Silver until when I decided to give it a try.We ordered 2 mains and a side.All I could say is, both our main are serve cold and the fries is not entirely cook. Lucky for the fish and chicken chop that were still edible. Fries - one of my top favorite food. We all know that long john's fries are different from those of other fast food restaurant. It is covered with a thin layer of what perhaps a better with different herbs and ingredients to make it so tasty. Some people, like me like flavored fries but some others just prefer fries with simply salt. I like both kind so it's no issues to me. The chicken - oh so hard to cut it that I just simply poke my way through the meat with my fork and simply bite it off. The batter is hard as I assume the meat is actually cooled for a longer period of time at stand before serving as it is not even warm but cold (and I do mean it). I believe the chicken would taste much better being fresh from the fryer and the meat and batter wouldn't be so hard. But one thing for sure, even though the meat may be cooled for quite a period of time, their nutrients will not be lost as the batter is actually "protecting" the nutrients from escaping . Tried their breakfast menu, which consists mainly of bread. So, if you don't like to eat bread, this isn't the place for you. The variety of breakfast items is quite limited. The texas chicken sandwich is what I would recommend! The chicken isn't overcooked so the meat is still tender. I also tried the turkey bacon sandwich, which turned out to be a bit salty. Went to Northpoint outlet just now to grab their $4.50 combo Just now was lunch time and there's quite a small crowd. When it's my turn, i ordered the 2 pieces chicken combo and take away. Just a tip for you guys, LJS's having a promo on fnb now. Just go d/l and print or flash them the coupon for free fries for their fb fans And so i got free fries! But the funny thing's that i show it to the staff, who show to the supervisor, who show to the manager. The salmon fish is marinated with teriyaki sauce (if I am not wrong) before bring to pan fry. The fish meat is soft but there is slight fishy smell in it. Quite fragrant with that slight over cooked texture on the outer surface. The rice slightly cooked with some thinly chopped carrot, nothing interesting and the portion is quite little too. I have top up $2.90 for an additional coleslaw and fresh brewed coffee. The price is quite alright however may not be filling enough for big eater like me. Now long john silvers got a new promotion called the silver platter. It is for two people to share. I went to long john silvers with my sister to try their silver platter. It had 4 prawns, 4 calamari, 2 drumlets, 2 pieces of chicken, 2 fish fillet and chip and fries. even though it seems that there are a lot of food on the platter, when my sister and I finished everything, we still did not feel full. Big fish sandwich set from long john silver breakfast. Set comes with hash brown and tea or coffee. If change to other drink, you need to top up a bit more. The fish is crispy and tender after fried.
