For more blog post at: http://rygohxx.blogspot.sgPaul - established in 1889 in Lille, France has grown into a worldwide with 500 boulangeries in 31 countries. In Singapore, Paul expands it's 6th outlet at Marina Bay Link Mall Basement 2 located around the Central Business District. This will definitely bring good news to the people working near there to enjoy their handmade traditional and specialty French breads or even main courses. In addition, they are going to open another outlet at Changi Airport Terminal 3.For a lighter, low carbohydrate option, this is highly recommended. The greens are chopped in a smaller bite-size for easy consume. Sweet, tangy and refreshing salad to enjoy with.First time trying out grilled seasoned tuna or rather my first time eating tuna as I'm a person who don't eat raw. Since it's grilled might as well I gave it a try. As a first timer eating this, I would said that it's a unique dish to begin with. Oh yah ... did I mentioned I love every bits of the vegetables they served - roasted asparagus, sweet carrot ..Highly recommeded! And the fact is the duck leg is marinated for 2 days before it was being roasted and served. The marinated duck leg is tender, flavourful (especially together with their seasonal cranberry sauce) and crispy. Definitely worth a try!查看更多

It was my second visit here, this time for lunch with a couple of lady friends.I started with a Tartine Saumon (SGD$19.90) - smoked salmon, avocado, leek , mixed herbs and cheese. The smoked salmon was succulent and not too salty, and I love the combination of this cold, slimy delicacy wrapped around buttery avocado, nestling atop crispy slices of toast. It was a healthy but satisfactory concoction of all my favorite things, done in flavors that danced across the tongue.*Chantal had the Omelette Complete (SGD$14.90) - omelette with slices of grilled turkey ham, mushrooms and cheese served with salad, Provencal tomatoes and potatoes. It was a flavorful piece of culinary art, with the eggs beaten well and taste was well-accorded with a nice balance of the fillings within the protein-rich omelette.I had the Raspberry Tart (SGD$7.90) - Tartlette Framboises - classic fruit tartlet made with a crispy, buttery pastry crust, filled with creme patissiere and topped with raspberries. Contrary to its glossy, syrupy-looking photos, the real tart came with raspberries powdered with sugar / icing instead, giving the sour fruits a sweet guise. The pastry crust was delicious though, and the creme fillings was silky smooth with a light, lovely flavor.*Chantal had the Millefeuille Fraises - crispy golden puff pastry, strawberry creme-filled Napoleon cake topped with light apricot glaze. The combination of textures - crispiness, soft creamy sweetness and juicy bits of real strawberries embedded within this pretty pastry was a sinful necessity in itself - lovely! For more detailed information and photos, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2014/07/lunch-at-pauls-bakery-restaurant-cafe.html查看更多

Having heard raves and good reviews about Paul's Bakery and always seeing the long queues, we were eager to try it, thinking that it must have been very impressive. However, our first experience left us with much to be desired. After a tough mental battle between Hot Chocolate and Tea Gourmand, I decided on the latter, which came with three pieces of Macorons as well. While I sipped my hot tea, I nibbled on the a-tad-too-sweet macarons, glad to be able to swallow the saccharine tiny cookie-like pastries easier. No worries there, the tea and macarons were not the highlight anyway. We patiently awaited our tarts to be served.I had the Chocolate Tartlette- a small name for a rather good-sized pastry. The crust was solid and not crumbly like how some tarts fall apart the moment it is put to the fork's test. The chocolate was .... nondescript? There was no rich strong aroma of good chocolate or the bittersweet-ness of my favorite dark chocolate; the taste was pleasant, but nothing that blew me away. It was a rather normal chocolate tart, in my humble opinion. For more detailed information and photos, do visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2013/12/tea-at-pauls-bakery.html查看更多

My group of friends and I were done with dinner but still not done catching up! We decided to head to Paul bakery at Ngee Ann City to have their cakes! As there were four of us, we ordered four cakes to share! This slice of cake is actually like a fruit cake as it consist of blackcurrant mousse and caramelized apples on an almond biscuit base. I feel that it is not bad! One of my friend loves fruit tarts and will always order it whenever she is at a bakery. I'm not a fruit tart lover so I find this to be so-so only. This slice of chocolate cake is also so-so tasting. I'm a chocolate lover and this chocolate tart is nice! I love bitter dark chocolate flavour, and Paul's version of it fits it perfectly! The tart is firm and this is my favourite out of all! :)查看更多

My hubby and I are breakfast persons. We like to try out breakfast at different places. Last Sunday we were at Ngee Ann City. We reached before 10am and realised that there were not many choices for breakfast there. We passed by Coffee Bean Bistro, their breakfast set is about $16-18. After walking aimlessly for a while, I suddenly thought of Paul at level 3.The breakfast set is rather simple. It consists of 2 eggs, 2 slices of grain bread, sautee potato (in place of unhealthy harshbrown), cherry tomato and 1 big slice of ham. It costs $9.80 (before GST & service charge). The down side is that, this set does not come with coffee/ tea. I ordered a flat white coffee, cost $5.60. It is rather small cup compare to Starbuck. The breakfast set and coffee appear reasonably priced on the menu. But after GST and service charge, the bill was $29.50. The price is not cheap. But the furnishing and decor of the cafe compensated it. We were given a window seat, so the whole breakfast experience was nice. It makes you feel that you are in overseas cafe. It is unlikely that I will return for breakfast. But I will drop by for some nice french bread if I am around that area. For coffee that price, Starbuck is better.查看更多

I learn of Paul Bakery's during my trip to Paris in the beginning of the year as it was commonly seen in the streets there. For such a big network of bakery and patisseries, this French Style Bakery was marked as my "must visit" when I chanced upon them in Ngee Ann City.Quite a number of items displayed on shelves are familiar to what I saw in France. There were 2 queues in front of the stall. With the longer queues for dining in house, we had chosen for take away since we can enjoy those pastries on the move.Croissant was very crispy externally with all the flakes detaching from it as we bite. What's interesting is that it does has an extraordinary burn smell (just a little) that makes the bite more interesting with its pillow soft interior. Though its plain, it tastes better than all of those that I had ever tried in Singapore.Cost: S$2.70Pain Chocolat Amade is a rich, croissant style pastry that has dark chocolate in the center topped with almond slices. It's generous almond slices and the snowy outlook had simply stole my stomach away. Do note since it uses dark chocolate, the taste is closer to bitter but the exterior icing had blends in well, thus the taste is a balance in between sweet and bitter.Cost: S$4.20Millefeuille Fran Ind is a traditional French favourite and also PAUL's classic. It comes with Chocolate, raspberry and strawberry and I had chosen the latter. This golden crispy puff pastry is highly addictive. Every layer of the pastry was very flaky and it is filled with chilled custard flavour cream and topped with half a slice of strawberry. Delighting Pastry!Cost: S$7.80PAUL had gone an extra mile for its packaging by placing them in a little paper box. Here's the total amount spent for 2 on our tea time! Considering it's french and every pastries was refined and delicately make, the pricing is around the market standard.Service/counter staff are seen pulling long faces. Service wise, there are more rooms for improvement.查看更多

I had wanted to visit Paul during one of the lunch hours but after looking at the menu, my friends decided that it was too expensive to dine there during meal times so we said to head back for desserts instead! We went after our movie and it was quite late already, around 9plus. However there were still some people queuing, but I saw that there were quite a lot of empty seats outside. So we took the seats outside. Because we came rather late, most of the signature cakes and pastries were sold out. We asked for some recommendations and we got Pomme-Cassis ($8.50) and a chocolate tart (Tartelette chocolat, $6.50). GST and service charge prevails but plain water is complimentary. The first bite down on Pomme-Cassis was just sour. It has caramelised apple slices in between the two layer of sponge cakes. I wasn't very impressed by it due to the first bite. Cakes are supposed to be sweet! Maybe this dessert requires more than just one bite to fully appreciate the taste. I wonder why it was recommended though. The chocolate tart was great! I enjoy my chocolate to be slightly more bitter and thus this suits my taste. Not recommended for people who dislike bitter chocolate though. The crust of this tart was awesome! I don't think it was baked hours prior to us eating it but the crustiness of the crust was maintained quite well. 查看更多

Paul's pastries are really super awesomeeeeee and i would love to go back for the desserts sometime. can’t believe i missed them, but i was really too full unfortunately :( went there for brunch!greedy me decided to order a patissier’s bread basket ($9.90) all for myself! actually i would suggest ordering this to share, together with other things (maybe…dessert? ), but it definitely gives you the chance to try out their awesome breads which i am absolutely crazy about! i loved their croissant for it’s crackly texture and fluffy interior. a surprising discovery was the briochette! when i first saw the picture of it, a round bun that didnt stand out much next to the croissant and pain au chocolat, i didnt take much notice of it. however, when i bit into the bun, i was surprised at how warm and fluffy and it was!!! i absolutely loved it! the briochette is also slightly dense, which makes it a delight to bite into. on the other hand, i was kinda disappointed with the pain au chocolat as i felt it wasnt that wonderful as it was touted to be. for the flute (which is kinda like a french loaf/baguette), have it with the butter and jam provided. it’s yummy! :)dad had the Gaufre chocolat ($7.50) which is a waffle with chocolate sauce. while i felt that looks-wise, it wasnt very impressive, it tasted pretty good! i loved how the waffle was warm and fluffy inside, and the chocolate sauce was delectable!for the mains we had the Oeuf brouilles ($9.80) which is scrambled eggs with soft bread, cherry tomatoes, turkey ham and sauteed cherry tomatoes. we also ordered the Oeuf sur le plat ($9.80) which is exactly the same, except that it’s sunny side up eggs. in my opinion, stick to the breads/pastries/desserts at Paul (although i havent tried the desserts but i heard it’s good!) because the mains werent very outstanding. the eggs were pretty decent, but the rest of the dish was just alright and didn't impress. For full review and more photos, please visit http://thelittlemomentsofmylife.blogspot.com/查看更多

Paul’s Bakery occupies a large branch at the 3rd floor of Takashimaya. The bakery is separate from the restaurant and one can order take-aways without going into the restaurant. The restaurant itself looks very nice, with chandeliers and plush sofa seats. I had the mixed fruit tart which costs $6.40. The fruit tart was good but not outstanding. The tart was alright, tasted like the average cookie-like tart. Fruits was a good mix with special dragon fruit, which was a little sour/sweet.查看更多

I was looking for a place to have lunch on a weekday afternoon and discover this nice and quiet café. I ordered a open sandwich with heaps of chewy and succulent mushroom and tiny bits of aromatic truffles covered with cheesy melted cheddar cheese. Served with a generous amount of fresh crunchy green salad. I got Lemon Meringue Tart for my dessert. Buttery and crumbly tart shell filled with zesty and smooth lemon curb topped with flamed white meringue that tasted like BBQ marshmallows. Would come back again for more desserts. 查看更多

The buddy needs to go collect something from Orchard Central, while I'm bored at home, she suggested going for dinner at PAUL Bakery which is located next to Kinokuniya (where Coffee Club used to be).Service was rather poor too! When we're ready to order, some of the waiter/ waitress actually saw but ignore us when we put up our hand! We waited for awhile and when one guy finally came, he sound so reluctant in taking our order! She had Salmon Sandwich & she says it's quite deliciousWhile I had Roasted Chicken Leg - ok, I quite like the chicken, but too much veggies for me! And the sauteed potato & carrots are little too oily. She had Waffle w/chocolate sauce, which we find it too crispyWhile I had this Dark Chocolate thingy (can't remember the name cos all in french lah). I don't quite like cos of the chocolates at the side. Feels very nutty.I don't quite like what's on the menu cos most items are loaded with cheese, but I'll probably grab some stuffs from the take-away bakery counter if the queue is not long when I pass by next time.查看更多

Read more food reviews at http://thehungrybunnie.blogspot.comWe finally tried Paul, the world renowned French patisserie. While I'll readily admit that their eclairs do really live up to the hype, forking out a cool 6 buckaroos for just one eclair seems a little lavish (not to mention, a bit foolish!). We tookaway the Chocolate ($6.80) and Coffee ($6.60) flavoured eclairs. These were huge (but then again, at more than $6 each, they better be!), and seriously one of the best choux pastries ever. Fluffy and light and moist, their slightly roasted edges gave way to airy tunnels filled with the most amazing cream custards查看更多

Paul Bakery is an upscale bakery in Ngee Ann City but the food itself is not exceptional to warrant a second visit thus far. The service is much better than its opening days and our water was constantly refilled by polite waiters / waitresses. As for the food itself, I tried the Strawberry and Mixed Fruit Tartes but found the pastry cream too overwhelmingly sweet. The fruit however was still quite fresh. Maybe it was just an off day and I might be back again. 查看更多

The smell of fresh bread is so deeply alluring that i cannot find words to describe my apparent fascination with it. My mum will almost always opt for fresh french baguette over soft rolls.Paul is perfect. Flute paul is a traditional slow treated yeast dough that makes these amazing baguettes. And its only available here.Dad made an order for a chicken sandwich which amazingly he finished all of it.*i hope its not tough. I hope he eats it. I mumbled.Dad's a traditional Asian man. He has his sandwiches hot, never cold. The staff will heat it up for you if needed. That poppy seeds on the bun was just a delight to eat and the chicken breast slices were juicy and oh so tender. my only gripe would be their tomatoes and lettuce. The tomatoes weren't sweet and the lettuce was measly. Otherwise, it was perfect for it's Parisian ambience and my pain au chocolate.查看更多

Paul Bakery is an oasis of calm in a busy shopping mall. We sat down and ordered a basket of butter croissants to share. These were really good. The butter croissants was sufficiently buttery but not too oily as some bakeries may be. The fluffiness was present when every bite brought to us 'air' as the soft bread melted into our mouth. You can get the bread heated up if you want to. 查看更多
