The hype for desserts these days surrounds waffles, cakes and tarts in cafes. But has everyone forgotten the traditional taste of Hong Kong desserts? If you're a fan of Hong Kong desserts like myself, you've got to check out Hee Kee - it's first Singapore store located in Jurong Point. Mango Cheong Fun ($3.30 per piece) - Steamed spongy sweet-coconut infused skin filled with mango chunk. Wrapped nicely like a gift, look at how 'shiny' and silky those skins were? It's such a great combination, sweet mangos wrapped with coconut skin. Just thumbs up.
Whole Coconut with Coconut Ice cream & Peanut Crush ($8.80) - It's indeed a refreshing dessert, filled with rich coconut ice cream and coconut flesh, topped off with crushed peanuts. This dish reminds me of the famous coconut ice cream in Bangkok, it tasted almost the same. It comes with a cup of refreshing coconut juice as well.
Durian Pancake (From $3.30) - I'm always a durian pancake fan and this dish satisfied my craving. The durian pancake at Hee Kee is a hearty combination of rich durian puree and whipped cream, wrapped in coconut infused skin. One thing I've to emphasized - the coconut infused skin tasted heavenly! Having it alone was already good enough, adding on the durian puree filling was just pure shiok-ness.
If those dishes I've mentioned above excites you, be sure to visit Hee Kee to get your dessert fix! You can get to enjoy sweet treats in a vintage-inspired 40-seating setting with your loved ones.
