This Chinese new year I am invited to the Chinese new year dinner organised by the Nee Soon East CC. The dinner is catered by Sin Swee Moi Catering Service. Prosperity Yu ShengAs there are many people in this dinner, we have to proceeds to add ingredients such as the fish, the crackers and the sauces while saying "auspicious wishes" (吉祥话 or Jíxiáng Huà) as each ingredient is added, typically related to the specific ingredient being added.We have great fun tossing the dish together.Yi Pin Hotpot

Yi Pin HotpotThe soup is quite thick and is full items such as chicken, fish maw and mushrooms. Very filling.
Yam Ring with Assorted IngredientsFull of crispy vegetables but the yam ring is not crispy enough. It also tastes a bit too oily to me too.
Herbal DuckServed in foil, the duck is quite tender. The soup in the dish is quite flavourful.
Dried Oyster with Black MossThe oyster is quite juicy and balanced the taste of the vegetables.
Steamed PromfretThe fish is steamed in teochew style, and tastes light and simple.
Cereal PrawnI like that the prawns have been peeled. Tastes juicy and crunchy.
Braised Pork with BunsA sinful dish, but well braised for the fatty pork belly.
Lastly we end the meal with Yam Paste with Pumpkin for dessert. I like it that it does not taste too sweet.
Overall the food is not bad and quite standard. Drink is refilled regularly. 張貼
