Surrounded by private estate, Wimbly Lu Cafe runs quite a brisk business even on a quiet Sunday afternoon. The cafe is full and we have to wait quite a while for a table. The place reminds mom of a old terrace house. There is book shelf fills with story books which little JJ has a good time enjoying himself.
From the All-Day Dining Menu, I have ordered Fries ($4) for grandmama as she like deep fried food. It is very cute to be presented in a dim sum basket. The fries are crispy but too thin.For beverages, we have
Cappuccino ($5)The coffee is not warm enough and lacking in taste too.
Caffe Latte ($5)I quite disappointed that there is no distinct layers. The coffee is also not warm enough and lacking in taste too.
Chamomile Tea ($5/ pot)I like that the tea is served with tiny cup. Smells quite nice too.
Not forgetting the food which we have come here for.
Root Beer Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream ($6)It looks like a brownie, topped with a scoop of ice-cream and choocolate sauce. Interestingly the cake has the taste of root beer, but other than that it is a bit dry.
Bread & Butter Pudding ($5.50)We are a bit disappointed in this as one has remarked that the almond slices tastes a bit spoit. Inside is also a bit too dry.
Flourless Orange Cake ($6)The cake is so moist and full of flavour. A bit reminds me of steamed cake. Yummy.
Also have waffle with a scoop of brownie ice cream and chocolate sauce by the side. It costs $8.50 a serving. The waffle is crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside.Overall there is still hits and misses, but I will be back again as it just walking distance from Grandmama's place.
