Bakerzin starts out as Baker Inn and over the years it has changed alot from a bakery cafe. The outlet at Northpoint is decorated in a modern and stylish look with see through chairs and sofa seats. Recently it updates its menu. The menu seems to be more focus on pasta dishes now. I could not even find its signature otak ciabatta in the menu. Looking through the menu, I decide to try a couple of the new dishes. Service is not bad and food is served rather quickly. Great for those who need to cat
Veggie Quiche ($13.50++)The quiche has a rather thin and buttery crust filled with layers of mushrooms, zucchini, spinach, cherry tomatoes, egg custard and Parmesan cheese. It is amazing how such a thin and light pie can hold so much filling. The quiche is served with mesclun in house dressing.
For the tea, Bakerzin has a limited selection from TWG Tea priced from $6.90++ to $8.00++. I selected Vanilla Bourbon ($6.90++) which tastes quite light and flavourful.
For dessert, there is Sweet Corn Panna Cotta ($10.50++). The crunchy freeze-dried corn topped sweet corn panna cotta is quite smooth and not too sweet. But the lemon madeleine sponge below it, tastes too dry. The popcorn that served with it tastes rather flat and lack of crunch. It would be better to leave out the popcorn.Overall the food is not bad, but a bit on the high side.
