At dinner time, it is quite crowded at causeway point. Since it is almost 5.30pm and Crystal Jade Kitchen starts their operating hour at 5.30pm , we decide to have our meal there.The restaurant is decorated in a modern traditional way with comfy armchairs surrounding the tables. At dinner time, it is quite crowded at causeway point. Since it is almost 5.30pm and Crystal Jade Kitchen starts their operating hour at 5.30pm , we decide to have our meal there.
The restaurant is decorated in a modern traditional way with comfy armchairs surrounding the tables. The restaurant is quickly filled up the moment it is opened for business.Looking at the menu, we decided to order a 2 person set meal which costs $49.80++. It comes with individual bowl of soup, plain rice and a choice of dessert each.
We start the meal with individual bowl of Double-boiled Pork Rib Soup with Watercress. The soup tastes full bodied and flavourful. The watercress is cooked till very soft and melt in the mouth texture. The pork rib is meaty and very soft.
Next we have Sautéed Shrimp & Cuttlefish in Spicy Sauce. There is lot of celery slices in this dish and tastes quite crunchy. The cuttlefish is quite QQ in texture.
This is followed by Simmered Seasonal Vegetable in Superior Broth. The broth is made of pork rib and tastes flavourful and not too salty. The spinach soaks up the flavour from the broth. Simple and tasty.
Next we have Sweet & Sour Pork with Pineapple & Assorted Capsicums. The pork is quite big in piece and tastes juicy.
Also have BBQ Pork & Soya Sauce Chicken Platter. The char siew tastes great being juicy and soft. The soya sauce chicken is a bit too red for me.
The platter is served with a ginger sauce which tastes great with plain rice. It reminds me of a ginger oil claypot rice which Crystal Jade used to served in its Scott Square's outlet.The staffs are quite friendly and efficient. We have brought a cake with us and the staff kindly offers to keep it in the fridge for us. They clear the plates from time to time and refilled the tea regularly.
We ends the meal with Sweetened Red Bean Cream and Mango Pudding for dessert.
The sweetened red bean cream is served hot. It is quite thick and creamy.
The mango pudding looks quite orange in colour. It tastes quite thick with cubes of mango inside.Overall quite a tasty and filling meal. Plus great service from the staffs.
